Sent you a PM with my views on both Edmonton ADs. J Vair in Calgary would be my choice too.

Swedish Jeweler around 10%. You need to be a long time customer though.

My brother and I have bought several watches from Nash Jewelers here in London, Ont. Always a great experience.

Swedish Jewellers here in Edmonton are really very good! I like them, when I can I'll be buying my Explorer II from them.

Gemoro in West Edmonton Mall is OK, but just OK. They have a bad habit of leaving their Rolex display case open and unlocked, I've brought that to their attention twice and each time the girl's face goes pale and she locks it up.

I couldn't believe the tax-on-tax in Quebec and so I looked it up. Unbelievable but true! My daughter goes to McGill in Montreal, no wonder it's so expensive: and the tax-on-tax is just the tip.

Both Royal de Versailles and La Difference carry Tudors.

Hi everyone,

I have been "lurking" on this site for the past month trying to learn from everyone (especially from fellow Canadians) about all the ins and out of Rolex watches. I couldn't believe how wonderful and helpful everyone is on this forum and hence I had to join!

Anyway, went to an AD a couple of days ago and looked at an AK and OP Date. They offered 18% off the 2011 CAD list price. Not bad - but the thing was the AK had a G serial # and the OP Date had a M serial # Is it normal for AD's to sell "older" watches? I would have preferred to buy a watch with the random serial number....small quibble but was wondering if this is the norm?

i've dealt with diamani's, la difference and humbertown jewellers here in Toronto. i have yet to set foot in royale de versailles.

of the three that i've been in the best experience i had was at humbertown. they offered me a 20% discount off a 16610 about a month before it was announced that they would be discontinued. and all i had to do was simply ask 'what can you do for me?'

second to them is la difference. the only thing you need to realise is that they are run by chinese, have chinese staff, and their target demographic are chinese people. being chinese, i got great service, and was offered some excellent prices. i'm not sure if a non chinese person will receive the same treatment.

diamani's, while touted as amazing by many who go there, treated me the worst, and had the highest prices of the three.

in terms of trying to get rolex original parts, i found that la difference was the most flexible for prices, humbertown gave the most reasonable prices with a little wiggle room, and diamani wanted an arm and a leg.

hope it helps for anyone in the GTA and surrounding areas.

Best Regards,

Matte

Were they as generous as the Kitchener store in terms of discount?

You can also try Independent Jewellers in Winnipeg. Ask for Jonathan (owner). Have dealt with these folks for many years. Very honest and handle an excellent selection. Hope this helps.

I deal with Brinkhaus in Calgary. The tax in Alberta is only 5% (lowest in Canada) and you can usually convince them to give you a 20% discount. At that point, I round the price down to the next lowest 100 and it's always a done deal.
Very wide selection and excellent reputation. They also have a branch in Vancouver, BC. But you'll pay higher tax.

By the way, they also carry Tudor, IWC and other high end watches.

I guess Karolinec1 we're in the same boat, trying to buy a Rolex in Toronto. LOL We should go shopping together. ;-)

Is it an advantage to buy from another province like Alberta and ship to Ontario? Has anyone done this?

I have nothing but praise for Humbertown Jewellers, Toronto, (Etobicoke), a very large selection of Rolex and Tudors with 20% off no problem.

FYI: I believe that Swedish Jewelers in Edmonton is no longer in business. They were plagues with repeated robberies, etc...they are no longer listed on Rolex's web site either.

It shut down a few months ago. Landlord sold the building and it is slated for destruction. They sold off their stock and likely gone for good. Gemoro opened a store right across the street in commerce place mall as well as still having their big store at west edmonton mall.

And from what I have been lead to believe one or two of the robberies or break ins at Swedish were somewhat suspect in their legitimacy.

Brinkhaus in Calgary has always treated me very well. J. Vair is also highly regarded. Birks (which bought Brinkhaus a few years ago) is close by so worth a look but I don't think they will have the same knowledge as Bhaus or JV. My wife and I deal with Rita B. at Bhaus and she is great but all the others there are very knowledgeable and their customer service has always been great in our experience.

Joseph Anthony's in Windsor i would highly recommend for their selection, discounts and service. They are one of the largest Rolex sellers in Canada. Great family run business. Just picked up my SD43 last week from Joe.

I deal mostly with Chateau D'Ivoire in Montreal, amazing selection, plus they have most other popular brands in stock, you could literally spend all day there.
