Nice looking' Sporty! It'll be fun around town but you'll have to get a trailer for the King so you can pull the Sporty with you to the rally's.

I agree with Mon on this one. Nothing like a Harley. Pretty much the Rolex of the bike world. Affordable and luxurious but rideable.

Ooooh.... this topic gives me an idea! I have a 2001 Ducatti 748r w/ 17k miles sitting in my dad's garage in Miami. I moved to Boston about 3 months ago, and didn't have time to sell it before I left. Since I'm on the market for a watch, anyone maybe interested in a trade in the Miami area? My dad has the title on the bike and could work the trade.
If so, give me a holler! :) |

Me and my sister and dad rode mountain bikes up in, well, the mountains, a lot when I was a kid.... heck, we rode them everywhere, along with a whole "gang" of teen youths from our neighborhood....
But I never made the leap to street bike. My sister did for a bit, then her bike was crashed by a dude. I would still like it, but I'd prefer country roads. Here in Chi-town our street bikers race about in traffic, sometimes on one wheel showing off... that's not for me, I miss the mountain biking. |

That is a seriously cool looking bike! I bet that hardtail kicks your butt after 30 minutes around town though.

had a 1200 Sporty for awhile. Changed the front and rear sprockets to make it tolerable on the freeway. Had a S&S Super e carb, and Dyna ignition. Was a real tire burner.

Ah, funny part is I saw this bike a few weeks ago. I passed on it mostly, well all, because of the mid controls they were the deal breaker. I was out at a popular biker spot and saw this red bike parked and chatted up the new owner, he loves it...

I'm glad the new owner likes it ... not my cup of tea although I do prefer mid controls. Hard tail bikes are unappealing to me from the practicality point of view, as I like some comfort! I do love Sportsters though and have owned a couple of them - a 1980 Ironhead and a 1998 XL1200S. Nice Road King by the way! My current ride is a 2008 FXD. I used to be a mechanic many years ago so I have a hard time not fiddling with bikes, so it's not quite stock now... 103ci, cams, etc...
