I see. Actually, I think Rolex have already upgraded all their so-called tool watches: GMT IIc, Deepsea, Sub C, Explorer II 42, Yacht-Master, and Daytona C SS should be coming soon.

They cannot just stop here and just introduce new dials for datejust/day-date for 50 years from now. They must introduce something new. Sky-Dweller is something technically amazing and so practical. I think that would be the direction Rolex takes from now.

Yes rolex make amazing tool watches for specific purposes in their sports catalogue, BUT, all I have wanted for a long time now is rolex to make a combined tool watch that includes chrono, GMT and date. Other manufacturers do it all the time. What is it with rolex? Anyone else think this?

No its simply down to the mainspring and spring barrel, complications in mechanical watches are expensive.Trouble with many complications far more to go wrong very expensive to service and repair etc.Yes its watch making skill with things like annual calendars, but even with them you still got to change the date for March 1st And we only got to set the date 5 times a year which only tales seconds to do IMHO the most useless complication is power reserve on a automatic watch.

A Day-Date II with a perpetual calendar would be amazing. Month indicator could be placed like on the Sky-Dweller. But Rolex will never make such watch, since it would look identical to the Day-Date II, it would just have a bit thicker case.

Yes. PR indicator on a hand wound watch makes more sense. So we know when to wind it again.

Hmmm...a power reserve on a Panerai hand wound watch with a 40 hour power reserve?

It needs to be wound every day.

How about a day and date side by side on a sports model like the Sub or Gmt!
I think that would be sweet!

I would like a complication that links to the us debt clock… such as this… http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html
and then make a gift of this to every US Senator and Congressman

That doesn't make sense. A hand wound watch with a PR indicator should have more than 48 hours of PR. Otherwise it would be as you said. We need to wind it everyday anyway.

The next complication for me is convincing my wife that I need another Rolex.

Well for me you can keep your complications, all I hope Rolex starts to produce some decent looking watches instead of overpriced watches and bling old stuff. In 20- 40 years time again IMHO,three of the rarest Rolex watches will be the Leopard Daytona, YM11 and the Skydweller, rare because simply they did not sell.
My sentiments entirely, it seems to me that Rolex are creating watches solely for the Eastern markets, where Bling is King.
