he must have slipped the 34 mm one on his wrist being totally smashed and taking the current bond girl's watch in the dark hotel room

and she wakes up seeing the smurf sitting peacefully on the dresser, texts him saying "where's my watch" and he texts back "I was pretending to be classy, that gold should adjust to your wrist, google. it"

To be truthfull, Bond would really need a bigger sized casing to have all the watch gimmicks that M had installed in it ! You can't really store a nuclear bomb in a Rolex 34mm casing,40mm is surely the minimum for Bond !
