After many Breitlings, Rolexes, Omegas and a Cartier, this would be the one:

I don't know how I ignored this watch for so long. I think it was mainly because I didn't need or want a chronograph, and I thought it was too big for me. Once a friend of mine on anothe forum said he was getting one, I went down to the Omega Boutique and had a look. I started to get very interested, when I found it has a manually wound movment, and a hesalite crystal. Two things I have been wanting for a long time. In addition, I well remember watching the moon landing in 1969 with my father:

In other ways 1969 was a huge year for me. So, now I have an Omega Speedmaster Professional, and I have no doubt whatsoever that it is the one. For a couple of years, it was my Rolex Explorer I 36mm, but this has taken over.
I love the looks of it, and in addition it is the most comfortable watch I have had, even though it is 42mm wide. More comfortable, in fact, than my Explorer, which is odd with the Explorer having the tapering bracelet, and the smaller size.

Cheers
Carl

Amazing post, thank you for sharing. I think it is always good to own a watch that symbolizes a particular period/event or era like your Speedmaster does. A watch that you can connect with on a non-physical level. I hope you continue to enjoy wearing it in good health.

I've started spending time on this forum because I own a 14060M, and it is a wonderful watch. But if I had to pick from my collection today just one to keep forever, it'd be the Seiko MM300. It's just an awesome build quality, great design, perfect for me in every way. Heresy on a Rolex forum? I suppose, but I love that watch.

Submariner and it would either be the 16610 or 14060.

Well stated. I have several different watches that mean a lot and couldn't choose just one. Also, several more I plan to get!

If its one Rolex it would prob be this one:

Too hard with other non Rolex brands involved, I'd need to really think about it.

Simple one for me. I love my 1675 GMT and my Tudor big block, but the one watch would be my 1680. As close to perfect as I can imagine...
