Same thing here, it doesn't look bad but it's not my style.

I really like the look, but would never do it to one of my Rolexes.

Ive had my PVD-DLC coated rolex now for 2 years...not a single scratch.
Hunting, Wrenching on my car, once I slipped poolside and banged the watch on concrete..not a single scratch. I dont know what coating the other people have been seeing with scratches... It's definitely not DLC. By the way, PVD is the process, DLC is the coat. There are other coatings that are not DLC but are PVD unto watches, or other things.

The look is growing on me, probably would like it in the flesh. Just a week or so ago a member posted a link to a batch of special commissioned Sub's for a Saudi family?? The subs were being blacked out by Rolex. I'll try to find the link and post it here

Looks cool, not for me either. IMO, PVD watches is another trend that will eventually die sorta like BIG watches.

The guy is a combat veteran... If he likes it (and I do too), then he deserves it. He's obviously very happy with it, and again, in real life it looks just awesome. It's not for everyone though.

Echo "OMG", but not in the positive sense. To each his own, but definitely not for me.

I don't get all the negative feedback because Rolex doesn't do it from the factory, it must be bad comments.
Customizing a watch or any other thing which makes the owner happy is all good! My take is you either like the look of a PVD'd watch or you don't and I personally do. I own three albeit non are a Rolex but I wouldn't rule it out someday. There are plenty of very high end watch makers who have PVD models so it makes me laugh when people say a PVD watch looks cheap. It to each their own.

I think it's a really cool look. I don't think I'd want it as my ONLY watch...but it would be great to have in the rotation.

Something new for modders to embark on Hugh I like my watches the way they are when they came from the factory. The most mod I would do is change the bracelet to straps and vice versa.
