I have the same issue, I'm sending a 100 emails a day and it sounds horrible on my aluminum macpro. Long sits, Ive been removing it or wearing slightly higher on the wrist for shorter sprints between meetings.

Same here man. When I first bought my DeepSea I would put a cloth underneath my watch as I typed. Needless to say it looked ridiculous. I just let it go now...

Why worry about something that can be easily polished out?

If you use tape, make sure it's acid free, also known as archival. You can get it from art stores.

I'm a lefty and I wear the watch on the same hand so the 12 o'clock side of all my watch bracelets always get a bit scuffed up. Thought it would bother me more with my Rolex but it hasn't. I know it will buff out and it's easy to spot my watch.

I did avoid the PCL's because of this though. I went with the older GMT.

There's really no way to avoid those darn desk swirls. Look at it this way, it builds character, and when it's time for the spa, you'll have it looking good as new.

scratches happen. The clasp is prone to the most and at same time easily buffed out. Treat your Rolex like you would treat your Seiko*. Rolex is a heavyweight in durability. Wear your Rolex, dont worship it. Get that Rolex of the pedestal and put it on your wrist.

* Seiko makes some of the most durable watches on the planet

Proper ergonomics you should not be resting your wrists while typing or using mouse. You only wrest them on pauses. Then you wouldn't get scratches if you laid down a wrist gel wrest of sorts.

I don't do this. I know this though. I wear my DSSD as it is my tank for all situations.

I work at a desk a lot and type. I keep my wrists up when I do type. Other than that its pretty much inevitable. Good luck and enjoy.

I use a second mouse pad, and lay it under my left hand. Easy, and work well.

Only way to avoid scratches on your watch and clasp is not to wear them ... meaning scratches will be unavoidable when you wear your watches. For me i just wear my watches and enjoy them. At least when the watch goes for service, the scratches will buff out.
