Fantastic shot of my second-fave Rolex (after the Sub C)

I was attracted to that watch since I saw it from a Basel press release last year, I thought I would go white dial, but when I tried it on in person it just... I don't know, but it just didn't sing to me. By chance, they had a black dial and asked if I'd like to see it. I almost said no, starting to think the EX II 42 would turn out not to be for me, but for the heck of it, I said: "Sure, let's see it."

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that was the watch singing to me )

I don't know if I can put it in words, and certainly nothing against the white face, but from the moment I tried that watch on my wrist, I knew it was the one for me
x2! I had the same experience, although I have yet to buy one.

Looks the same as the Rolex site. Maybe you are thinking of the white dial version?

OP, nice choice!

Btw, the black dial really pops in person! Congrats on a great pick up. Might be on the short list.

Hands are black lacquered on the WHITE DIAL 216570...on the black dial, only the bases are, as you note. That creates the so-called "Phantom" effect that is meant to loosely pay tribute to the 1655 Freccione Explorer II from the 70s.
