Well, the pic of the root beer confuses it a bit... so I'm gonna guess... you had one too many Jager-bombs one night out in Vegas, lost everything, and sold your root beer to the Pawn Stars guys for 1/2 what it's worth so you could go play the slots some more (and you didn't even get on TV, which just sucks!) Demosthenes is the online pseudonym for the character Valentine Wiggin from the novel Enders game and Speaker for the dead.
The whole series by Orson Scott card have been some of my favourite books for years.

The Enders game film should be out next year which will be interesting, the philosophy’s probably a bit heavy in the later books for sequels though.
