I guess I am not adding anything new here, but what an idiotic and pointless thread starter. Do you get a kick of an internet fight? Get a life man.

Very true but to create a thread on an AP forum bashing AP's is pure classless and wrong!! Anyone foolish enough to do this deserves the backlash he is getting. Tasteless and rude IMHO and totally unecessary.

I think the guy is just stating his opinion.

There has certainly been a lot said about the so-called "ClownMaster" and the SkyDweller by Rolex lovers on this site.

Instead of vitriolic or sarcastic responses, AP lovers could just try to explain what they see that some of us don't.

Again-unecessary thread to start on an AP Forum--completely disagree Grady. It is not at all the same as responding to a thread on whether you like or dislike the SkyDweller. A foolish thread without a doubt...

Couldnt agree more Ken.

We can not explain why somebody doesnt like AP, its about taste. Taste is taste .. can not explain nor change anybody taste.
But we cant just go to other forum and saying that your car is ugly , I dont understand why you buying it etc etc . Guranteed you will get the same response in any other forums.

I disagree Grady, his method was ill concieved and his comments were not well thought out.

Anytime you end a thread by asking people to flame you, and moon people, generally you expect the reaction he's getting.

There are better ways to state your opinion and ask for feedback.

We have a name for people that do this: TROLL. This one gets a new name: Pledgie Troll...

And like a typical TROLL I have seen him come back to look but of course not post.

For me, the 15300 garnered my attention first.

It's the Gerald Genta design.

The roots of it being the first high end SS luxury watch.

The quality, the level of detail, the fit, the finish, the dial, the hands, and that gold rotor.

The fact that they do so much by hand, and the level of detail that they go to.

It's a matter of taste and sometimes what one likes, others do not.

I like it, and it works for me.

Awaiting the onslaught....
Ok...let's get you back and involved.

But before we do that I'd suggest some tact especially when you choose to make such strong and intentionally provocative comments on an AP sub forum

Cheap? Doesn't command the respect of a Rolex?

Well.....Who's respect are you talking about? And which AP model looks cheap to you? Or is it a generalized comment about them all?

"owners in love with what I consider an ugly watch".... You don't understand how anyone can be in love with something YOU consider ugly???? Really....I'm not sure which world you live in but I have a clear understanding that people have different tastes. And that many can have strong feelings for something I just don't like. is this really new to you??

Then you really make an unnecessary comment when you state APs look like something purchased in a metro station in.....wait for it....."stanbul"

So as a lover of APs myself how would you suggest I respond to your series of provocative statements clearly not designed for constructive discussion or debate. See, let's imagine I'd just met you...or that you simply approached me....you looked down at my wrist and made the above comments about my AP diver. What do you reckon I'd do in terms of a reaction???

I'll look forward to your response.

I personally love the Rubber Clad, I think it is one of the coolest looking watches, but for someone who doesn't know AP (many new Rolex owners as well as Timex owners), it could look cheap, as could any watch with a rubber strap.

Fair enough... But you know if I spent my time bothering about whether my rubber strapped AP looked cheap to all the untrained eyes out there I'd go out and buy all gold to make sure it looked like the money paid. My taste in watches is not based upon such criteria. Thankfully I'm more tasteful than that.

Most people hardly ever recognize my Rolex. The fact that they'll never recognize my PP 5167 makes me feel even better.

Where I work people look at your watch before they look at your face. Everyone knows exactly what youre wearing. It's like literally wearing a number on your wrist.
