It wouldn't be a half bad, blacked-out looking watch if it wasn't for all the crazy colors.

I'm a huge fan of his stuff, love everything from the Résonance to dead seconds Tourbillon.

My favorite modern dress watch is the Chronometre Souverain/VC Patrimony Traditionnelle.

Having just found this old thread from 3 years ago. I thought that I would resurrect it to see whether the brand has become any more popular?

Personally, I have been a fan of FP Journe's earlier creations for many years and still am., so much so, that I am thinking of getting another one, as I have always regretted selling the Calendrier.
That said I have failed to be stirred by his recent designs.

What do others think?

I think his designs are an acquired taste. Originally, I had no interest, but now I'm a huge fan. I have a cb, would love to add an octa Luna at some point

Love FP Journe as well and especially the older platinum yellow dial Tourbillons and Resonance's with brass movements! Someday perhaps but for now just day dreaming.

Love the brand and that calendrier! Unfortunately the pieces I like are expensive! When my collection moves to that level, if ever, I'll be happy to add one. I would love an optimum

Huge fan here- I wear the CB as a dress AND casual watch and if I could I would add another FPJ.

I had the pleasure to meet FP Journe a few weeks ago, and he was extremely gracious and patient with my very rudimentary French skills.

When it was time to choose between adding a Moser, Journe or VC patrimony- I went with the Journe and do not regret it (though if the VC in Platinum w/grey dial was more affordable, my choice may have been different at the time).

The movement is a joy to look at, as is (more importantly) the dial. The service at the NY boutique is unlike anything I've experienced, and the desire to add another one is nagging and uncomfortable!

I recently saw an Octa Automatique Lune for sale on Chrono24 which started that knowing feeling in my stomach.

Big fan - Yes I think the popularity is rising. Seeing more and more discussion and better auction results on the pre-owned pieces.

Yes I really enjoying wearing my Octa RDM in platinum and gold dial (this is the original version in 38MM. Same dial size as the 40MM, just a slimmer case.)

Watch is extremely accurate.

Amazing watches but not the kind I would get if I could, their movements are some of the best IMO

Big fan, really enjoy the CB - it seems to get as much comments as any other piece I wear. Some of his designs are hit and miss for me but I always appreciate the effort and workmanship. The new gold dials on the CS are lovely.

Me too. I'd love to learn more from current or former owners of FPJ watches. I once read somewhere that the watches do not wind too smoothly. Is that the case? What about resale value? Do the FPJ watches lose more than brands like ALS, AP, PP?

Agreed on the may as well get a Patek sentiment on higher end pieces. However, I don't think Patek makes anything within the price range of the chronometre bleu that rivals its charm or beauty.
