If it's the first of many, the black insert Sub. If it will be first and last, an Explorer 2.

I'd say the LN if this is going to be your one and only. I love mine. You can get the LV next.

Explorer 2 Polar! Sits lower than Sub because it's back is not as tall. Very comfortable daily wearer.

Question for those that own both models. Which one do you find more comfortable to wear?

All fantastic choices. However, for your first Rolex, it must be the 116610 LN. Arguably one of, if not the most versatile Rolex ever.

Oh, between the two, I'd go Exp II. I have some thoughts posted at http://www.minus4plus6.com/216570.htm. Nonetheless, the Orange 24 hour hand is what does it for me (as well as the land based functions that the 24 hour hand brings). If diving, another story, but for desk adventures, I'd go Exp II.

Polar Exp II for me. Not sure why the comment that the bezel is underwhelming, as it is there for a purpose and does it well.

I personally like the LV best, but as your first ever Rolex, you may want the LN just to be conservative.

I have LVc and Polar 216570. Polar is much more comfortable in wrist. The caseback is flatter and the size, including the crown, is perfect. But if I was a one watch person and buying my first Rolex watch, the SubC LN would get my vote.

I was in your situation 3 years ago. White expII and hulk. I choosed polar expII. Fast forward 3 years still couldnt forget hulk. Especially lots of great pics posted here. So this year i add the magnificient hulk. In your case for the first one i am going to suggest black sub. And add hulk in the future.

I purchased the Explorer II (polar) first and then the SubC LV (within the same month). Fast forward two years and I've just sold my Explorer II and wearing the LVc more and more.
Having said that, I think it's a personal decision you need to come to. Sometimes you won't know until you try a few different approaches. |

I asked a similar question on here last month, but slightly more simple: Sub C black or green. I chose the green and I love it. It's not everyone's cup of tea but then I have to wear it, not them.
The advice I was given was try them both (all four in your case) and see which one sings to you the loudest. There is no wrong answer here as they're all awesome pieces. Unless, of course, you pick the watch that your wife/girlfriend/mother/priest/social worker prefers. But you wouldn't do that, would you? Would you? Alternatively, ask the dealer for interest free credit and buy one of each Good luck and let us know which you choose. |

116610LN! it can be your one and only rolex too, not just your first rolex. But once you get one, you will want another if you keep sticking around this forum.

Submariner is a no brainer!
LN is a great choice but love the LV sunburst dial. We all need green in our lives |

"First" as in more to come, then LVc. But if first like just getting my only Rolex then maybe the Submariner LN(black) is the best choice.
I vote LVc. |
