I'm 18 with 20+ years experience and have wanted a TT sub since I was 28! Maybe I was old before my time My next watch will be a gold day date with oyster.

I bought my first Rolex when I was 29 for the 30th time. It was a TT DJ. Since then I have acquired a second TT DJ, a YG DD, and an SS GMT-II. All before I was 34 for the 30th time.

I bought a TT sub in my mid thirties. I don't think it's a young or old persons watch.

My "hobbies" are (in that specific order):

1) Dunhill pipes
2) repeat: TWO!............. Rolex watches

So no. I won't sell Dunhill pipes to get yet another Rolex. And I have flipped Daytonas before, but won't do it with this time.

Lets up the age a bit, lets say cut off between young and old is 40. (that means I am just starting to hit old age )

So, if you own a TT or Gold Rolex, did you buy before or after 40 years old?
Bought my first gold Rolex at 42, a YG date model. Recently purchased YG DD. YG is classic.

I would love a DD 118238, though:

A member at the gym that I go to, he's a caucasian in his late twenties and early thirties, we see each other all the time. He wears above same watch to work out. I have yet to tell him about this forum.

So I guess it's a matter of personal preference? I'm 33 n I'll wear a solid gold or a TT Rolex to work-out anyday!

Icon6 TT Rolexes

I must question the whole SS vs TT debate. I bought my first Rolex TT thunderbird at 22 (went in debt for it) had to have it. Wore it till this year. When I bought it in 1985 I had always dreamed of a TT Daytona. Everytime I saw one I was mezmerized. I finally was in position to get one this year and I am still mezmerized but now I am looking at it on my wrist. From reading these forums I see that the TT is not the "hot" watch for most, but it is a hot watch to me which is all that matters. I feel fortunate to be able to own one period. I wear suits for my work everyday and the TT is amazing for me.

I have spent much time looking at my Daytona and do not get bored wearing ever.
Why debate it...own what you like. We are all lucky to have one of these fine instruments to admire.

I like TT watches. They are just beautiful. Although I must admit I only have 1 TT DJ left in the stable.

But there is something about the TT watches that just sparkle, shine them up and hold them under the light....WOW.

For old people, no. i bought my first TT around 29. I am 34 now and it suits me well.

The only TT Rolex I'd buy would be this one even though it is ugly as hell:
