Wore the g-shock on recent trip to Sao Paulo after hearing some stories... Also, tend to not wear Rolex when visiting new clients.

It's not a comfort issue but when I used to buy race cars I didn't wear the Daytona and would plead limited budget to get that extra few thousand off. Of course when selling them off, the RG President spoke volumes about not "really needing the money" to hold fast on selling price.
So I'd say it's based on professional preference since everything tells a story when you're doing deals. The other times I don't wear a Rolex (or cover it with a sweatband) is wrenching on the cars/trucks to avoid damage. Learned that from misfortune

I have an 11 year old 4runner that's been to war and back, but then again my Explorers look like that too!!! I have never really felt uncomfortable wearing my watch because I really don't think anyone notices. I usually wear both my Exp 1 and 2 on NATOs and very very rarely has anyone ever commented on them and it's usually in a good way. I firmly believe that most of the people I run into any way don't know what they are or don't care. |

I have a full Japanese style sleeve on my left arm that is usually the first point of attention and then when they see I'm wearing a Rolex, the look of confusion is hilarious.

I've never been uncomfortable with a Rolex on my wrist either. People usually don't notice it because I say such stupid things it drags all their attention. They wouldn't even notice if I was naked in front of them.

Mine is a plain stainless Air King. I don't think anyone realizes it's a Rolex unless they're into Rolex or high end watches. I've had people (e.g. a cashier at Home Depot) compliment me on my "cute watch"

I think that in 99.5% of the instances, nobody notices that the watch is a Rolex. Out of those that do notice, I'll bet that half have no clue how much they cost or are worth. The portion that might notice and know the cost probably don't care...

Once when i was invited to my friend's family gathering my buddy (a fellow WIS) decided it would be funny to point out my Submariner to his cousin that was fresh out of prison and back in his old neighborhood. I did not find it funny whatsoever nor did I know he was out yet and going to be attending.

After asking a Gentleman about his watch, and then finding out it was a fake Rolex. He explained that he had wanted a real one so bad and for the longest time. His wife actually checked into once and found out how much they really cost. He said is was just way too much.
After telling me all this which probably took a good 20 minutes then he saw my watch. I told him mine was a fake as well.

Never felt uncomfortable wearing my Rolex, but I will admit to having chose a model that "flies under the radar". It is one of the reasons I selected it. I wanted a Rolex that I could wear anywhere/anytime.

Always wear it, don't care who sees it. All my watches are SS. The less wealthy clients may notice it, but to me it shows them that I know what I am doing, or I wouldn't be in business still (in Spain, in an economic crisis). The more wealthy clients may notice and should see me more on an equal peg, assuming I know quality and my personal values will be reflected in the work I do for them.

depends on what im doing.... whats funny is a watch like a breitling super avenger usually gets noticed way before another watch that is 2x the $$$. just the society we live in i guess...
i have actually used the "its a fake" line before when i was in a certain situation reluctantly and did not want to see where the conversation would end up.... |

Yeah, but then when you don't get the lamp, you'll have to hear about it from your wife for the next 20 years ... over a stupid lamp.

Yes I get uncomfortable, especially when it's hot out and my wrist swells due to the humidity.
