The "great gift" was from your wife. Think this through before you make a decision.
Good luck.

Keep it!

Different watches for related purposes.

The SD is a great acquisition and you should be very grateful to have such an iconic and historic piece.

Total keeper. Your wife is not only exceptionally generous, but she knows a deal as that is under market for a BNIB 16600.

Your wife has found for you a needle in a haystack! I would keep it.

Otherwise, seriously, I would be glad to take it off your hands.

She made the right decision going with the sea dweller instead of the DSSD. Love it. Keep it, that thing is great, and your wife will feel all the better.

Definately a good score!

Keeper for sure! Extra bonus is that it's a gift from your wife.
Wear it and enjoy it. Will compliment your Sub nicely.

Keep it . . . and WEAR it!

It's a gift from your (incredible) wife and one of the most iconic watches in the world.

You'll always have the option of flipping it later (probably at a profit) if you don't bond with it. But I'll be surprised if the SD doesn't become the anchor of your Rolex collection.
