I always want to be a king; hence, I always choose Rolex over other timepieces.

I guess cause Rolex is better than most in brainwashing us with their, in my case, print ads.

Rolex makes good honest watches, rugged and smart.

I never heard of those other watches until this year when I became interested in watches. Rolex has better advertising.

Generally I like steal over leather straps and gold. Furthermore I wanted or sport-look that still demonstrated "Style & class"
I looked at the PP-Aquanaut with robber-strap and the Rolex-steal serie The robber-strap was waaaay to close in design of my previous watch, and I liked the design of the GMT ii-C better then the Sub. And since I do not dive (but have travelled world wide for many years) the choice was clear to me And no regrets ... I use it daily regardless |

Rolex was just a gateway drug to get me into the really hard expensive stuff. After 4 Rolexes in my life I got an AP 2 months ago. Couldn't be happier even though I could've gotten a solid gold Rolex for the same (if not cheaper) price than I paid for a SS AP.

Omega / IWC / Breitling
Because Rolex watches hold their value much better than the above brands. Rolex also has superior brand recognition and is a quintessential status cornerstone. I also believe that Rolex is a better value in terms of longevity, timeless designs (most models) and engineering.

I've had many brands of quality watches, but non of them stayed permanently in my collection....I don't know, just got tired of them, I guess, but Rolex always stuck around in the watch box.All I know, is I can wear any of my Rollies and not worry about them breaking or running funny, just reliable like a diesel Volvo. My collection is 100% Rolex.

I was swayed by the marketing, honestly, and chose from a (relative to now) point of ignorance. I see the watches more objectively now, and Rolex is my automatic choice much more rarely. I think Omega is, in certain cases, making a better product now and pushing boundaries on attainable watches - Rolex's innovation is at the top end, and I'm not convinced I would choose Rolex's offerings over haute horology brands, there's simply too much choice at those price points.
The only watches these days where Rolex are in an indisputable class of their own are their GMT watches. No one else comes close |

I chose Rolex because it is a Rolex....the rest are just watches.

When it came time to get my first high-end watch, I was seriously considering the Rolex GMT IIC, but I ended up getting a Vacheron Constantin Overseas because it was from a big three brand, and I found it to be the most appealing in terms of design of the high-end dressy sports watches, the others being the Patek Philippe Nautilus, and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
The beautiful guilloche dial, and the innovative use of the Maltese cross motif in the bezel, bracelet, and clasp was truly exceptional, and the bracelet is simply the most comfortable one I have ever encountered. My next high-end watch was the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Duo, because I was still looking for a watch with dual timezone capabilities, and was always fascinated with the two faces of the Reverso. There is a delicious irony that the first sports watch is now considered to be an iconic dress watch. The white and black dials of the Reverso also increases its versatility as a dress watch. Finally, I came full circle, and decided to get a Rolex Submariner 114060, because it is an iconic sports watch that has a balanced and elegant dial, and is ideally suited for daily wear.

If I am spending around $6000-$7000, Rolex is the way to go.
If I am spending $15000, which I would never do on one watch, no way is it going to be a mass produced, assembly line watch. If I was spending that kind of cash, Patek is my choice, or maybe a AP.

The only high end watch brand sold in NS Canada is Rolex. The same AD has tag but other then that a couple stores carry movado and Birks caries there own brand and from time to time brings in other brands that do not sell from other birks stores. So considering my choices unless I travel away to buy a watch it is rolex no question.
