depending on the resale value. If I buy a nice gently used 3 yrs old watch and wear it for another 3 years and resell it for the same price if not with a profit in return.. well no..

It is all relative and to most in the world they are all way over priced but then again aren't all luxury items? JMHO.....Cheers,

I agree with this. Buy a Timex and it's worth $0. Buy an AP, wear it a few years, AP raises the retail price a few times, sell your used AP for similar or more what you paid for it. I call that a good deal!

I fully agree, especially with the bold parts. All luxury items of this type are overpriced, you buy them for the quality (not to be mixed with quality/price rate) and you love them but you don't need them, quite the contrary if you ask me. However, in the world of haute horlogerie (since, as Ken said, it is relative) I don't think they're overpriced. Sure, they are much more expensive than a lot of other brands but the craftsmanship and the quality of those timepieces is quite incredible.

P.S.: No, I don't own one...and yes, I want one!

Really just depends on what your interests / mindset is. If you aren't into watches, you will probably say many luxury brands are overpriced. If you are into watches and the history of different brands, you may be less likely to say it's overpriced....and every permutation in between,
