Well, the answer is... not really. They got it 80%-90% there but couldn't fix the deep scratches in the bracelet or case, and where they've tried to re-polish the PCL's, they've gone deep to remove scratches but not quite deep enough and its left a wavy or warped texture where the remains of scratches were which looks weird.
Thanks for reporting back. It's nice to see a watch get good use like that one has. I didn't think they could get it back 100%. Post pics of it please.

I'll take some better shots in the morning when there's light but this is it for now

I didn't wear it myself, my brother did but yea, there's a second one (white dial) that's just as bad, it'll be the next servicing candidate.

ATTENTION

The clasp on that model can be bent. if it is not snapping in properly you can literally bend it to adjust the point at which the clasp snaps together

Nah... You could do it with the clasp of the "Zenith" Daytonas 1651x but you can't do it with the machined (solid) Daytona 1165xx clasps, though....

I love that you or your brother uses the watch every day for everything! That is the way a Rolex should be used in my opinion.
It looks great, both before and after service.

Yea they did fix that, it works as it should now, previously the only thing holding it closed was the fliplock bit, now the actual clasp closes correctly and stays shut on its own and the fliplock just keeps it.

Awesome !!!!!
I feel like a sissy with my Daytona, worn maybe 10 days since new 2 years ago, sitting on its winder inside the my safe....well there are over a few dozen guns to keep the Rolexes company in the safe...so maybe not a sissy!

Regards.

So what was the final bill (only since you asked for estimates earlier) and what work was done?

I would have the bracelet brushed, might solve the PCL problem, it seems like its a beater watch for you/brother anyway.

Thanks for the clarification... personally, I wouldn't want to go about doing it myself on the more solid clasp blades, though..... I guess RSC had the right tools to do the job. With the old clasps, it could be done with your bare hands in a giffy.

In the second last pic you can see the crystal scratch, it goes from 12, sort of down in a dogleg through to the minutes subdial, about 2cm long, if it were plexi it'd buff out but its sapphire...

Pay what it costs and dont look back, that bad boy needs a good service!!!!

Wow, very well used Daytona.
Good job, love watches being worn instead of keeping it in the safe.

The waviness you see if from too small polishing wheel you use a small one first then a fat one to cover the whole center link and then some this keeps the link flat and square IMO Rikki
