The Seiko 6139 Chrono was worn on Shuttle missons and it is an auto that cannot be hand wound.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts, I'm waiting for a call from the hospital after they have another look at the x-rays and photos they took of the wounds to see when (and if)I have to go back in to the burns unit, or if I'm really lucky, to my local cottage hospital for the dressings to be changed. Worst of all, I can't play my guitar at the moment, and I am going to have to miss out on a few gigs my band have got coming up, bummer!!!

Rolex watches work just fine here on Earth, in space and time voids, wormholes and through most stargates, although they may become a bit squashed in a black hole.

Get well soon Sparky.

I would think that if the auto-rotor mechanism in a GMT were to start spinning in space, it would not stop spinning unless something acted against it. Same way spacecraft move in space.

Interesting concept though...
