i used to work in that area. at the time, i could barely dream of affording a rolex. but that did not stop me from looking. i was, to a store, treated as unworthy of their time and attention.

i can't specifically state if they are any good because i would never give them any of my money.

I live in NYC and would not buy a Rolex on 47th St. The dealers there are not authorized dealers. I would definitely consider buying from one of the sellers on TRF.

If you want a BNIB with the AD experience, go to William Bartham. If you want to try on a bunch of Rolexes to figure out which model, try the Wempe Rolex Boutique or Tourneau because their inventory is better than William Bartham.
Spot on. I am a Manhattan resident. There are three authorized dealers in Manhattan: Tourneau Wempe and William Barthman. Torneau and Wempe are definitely the place to try on a Rolex. But trust me on this one from my personal experience: If you must buy from an AD in Manhattan you want to buy from Willam Barthman not the other two. I am not a person to waste or throw away my hard earned money.

If your in need of trying on and a face to face, without any of the tourneau bs, go to wempe. they'll do you good! Very clean and safe.

If you can get across the river, go to Lee Perla in the Riverside Mall in Hackensack NJ (near Paramus). It is about 5 minutes from the GW bridge, and you will be treated right from an AD. I bought 2 new pieces from them and was very happy with the experience.

agree, if i don't buy from a trusted seller here, it is always lee perla. they are tops in terms of AD's. a very impressive owner and staff. coming from a very tough customer, i like it there a lot. have purchased two there myself, and would return if davidSW were not so damned good at what he does.

I live in nyc. I think manhattan can be crazy ESP at high end stores between all the international tourists and wealthy.

I went to Scarsdale today to Wilson and sons to have a preowned Rolex checked out before buying it from seller. They are an AD but also said they are doing opening a brand new Rolex store the only one north of manhattan. Soft opening this week I believe. About 30-40 min drive fr city though.

Just throwing that out there as it seemed like it wasn't crazy busy and they were friendly and accommodating even though they knew I wasn't buying at the time. Also seems they've been open since 1905.

I've heard great things about Wempe. My cousin-in-law purchased his sub there and was extremely happy with their service

My Bad ! I know this well, I've been to both, and I REALLY think everyone should spend time in the Wempe Boutique just to see in person in one place so many great Rolexes.

Sorry for any confusion - I should have said 'right below the NYC RSC and go up there for a quick stop to see how they operate.'

Thanks guys for catching my typo !

Welcome!

Instead of NYC...you should look for deals here - TRF.

Happy Hunting!

I buy here, but I do love William Barthman too. I went in there for a strap for my old Chopard and was asked if I need help with any watches. After telling them I have no intention or ability to buy anything at the moment, they proceeded to let me try on any Rolex I wanted to. Including a Platinum Day-Date with the glacier dial.

I think very highly of William Barthman as well. That is where I purchased my 116233. The only down side is without a long standing relationship and multiple purchases it's hard to get a price that will rival TRF sellers.
