This place keeps getting better, and better. Again, I'm left with seemingly basis opinions regarding my words, rather than my questions. I specifically asked the inaccuracies of what I was told, and instead of telling me that, you call me a liar again.

I would love to post the place and number if I was given a go-ahead by a mod that it is okay to do such a thing here, I would have done so a few posts ago, but I'm already getting mixed advice about plenty of things from regular members. The man is sure to remember me, we talked for over an hour. There are at least 3 people in this thread who are most likely within a 2-3 hour drive from this jeweler, and they are listed on Rolex' AD site.

Now, I completely understand being skeptical at anything on the internet, but to express an offensive stance, and call me a liar for it, is like calling Higgs and idiot for his work. If you have an opinion large enough to try and call me out, why would you use it for close-minded opinions, rather than curiosity and full disclosure?

If I knew precisely nothing about watches, & inherited that particular example, five minutes of Google image search & a quick game of spot the difference would allow me to conclude it was a fake.

Ah, the old "inherited-this-watch-from-my-grandfather-and-wondered-if-it-were-real-so-I-contacted-the-forum-thanks-for-your-replies-why-is-it-fake-can-I-still-wear-it-jeweler-said-it's-real-oh-how-rude-you-all-are-I-am-indignant-if-only-I-could-reveal-who-I-am-and-who-the-jeweler-is-but-I'm-afraid-it's-against-the-rules-I-hate-this-place-now-going-away-with-my-fake-watch-mad-and-never-to-be-heard-from-again" story.

Wish I had a dime for every time I've seen this kind of thread in this section.

Grandfather rights

If you know your grandfather to be an honest man there would be no hesitation to send the watch to Rolex.
This cost of 850$ you mentioned would be easily recouped in a sale because you didnt pay for the watch so everything you would get is a bonus.

I guess you know your grandfather better then we do - perhaps the reason why you are here...

RobertS (Yes I did Google your username),

I think the reason for the reaction is that if in my short time here I have seen a similar "My Grandad left me a fake Rolex" story about once every two weeks max...

So maybe it helps you to understand the reaction a little better..

As for the latter posts, it's amazing what anonymity can do to people. Would you really be so rude to a persons face, and shove things down my throat that you have no idea about me? It seems that your skepticism of browsing this particular forum has worn on to your sentimentality. To have your own opinions? Sure, to each their own. To insult me with your own brand of theories is quite rude.

Hang on, let me get my sarcasm badge out here...Why, yes, it would be such a great idea to use a username I use commonly on the internet, quite google-able for reference, to go on to one of the top forums for spotting fakes, and lie through my teeth. The average person knows so much about Rolex, I must just be an idiot for not knowing, right?

All sarcasm aside, if this is what to expect from a Rolex community, it has left a very bad taste in my mouth. If you would like any proof that I can provide that my story is real, you are more than welcome to PM me. I just don't understand, why would I even bother to come back and reply a second, even third time, if I was some sort of scammer, or liar? In case you haven't noticed yet, I am quite insulted by multiple people not only calling me a liar of my story, but slinging mud my way with completely unfounded opinions with no more foundation than 'This is fake, I can tell by the pixels and having seen a lot of fake stories in my day'.

To those who identified it, even if they don't believe my story, either, but kept it to themselves, I am still appreciative of your help. As bad as of a thread this turned out to be, it still saves me the embarrassment and money of sending it to Rolex and being told that it is not real after the fact. I was planning to send it to them based on the jewelers opinion, but I am somewhat glad I came here first, instead of just blindly sending $200+ to Rolex for nothing.

On another note, reading through here, and going off of what the guy said to me, I am finding some discrepancy. I have seen a few people talk about going to an AD and getting these types of things checked out in a matter of hours. The Jeweler told me that there was no such place in existence, and that the only place to get a Rolex serviced is to send it to their main branch. Then again, he also told me with a lot of certainty that it was real.

it appears to me you received many genuine responses here and that you would be satisfied and appreciative of them, further more.... i find it interesting that you would hone in on what a couple of the responses suggested, it you weren't familiar with what they were talking about... your story is a common tale and the members that have been here for a while have seen it before, almost verbatim. are you really that offended

maybe all that needs to be agreed upon is that the watch is counterfeit.
