I am in the same boat! I LOVE my DSSD! I can't wear anything else these days. Seriously, nothing else. I find myself walking out of the house completely naked with nothing on except my Deep Sea. Weird. And its true, my neighbors don't even notice that I'm wearing a Rolex. I love flying under the radar like that.

I've had for DSSD's.... so you can say I have a love/hate relationship to that Rolex model!

What I love about the DSSD:

1) The thick case with nicely tapering lugs

2) The domed crystal

3) The semi-matte dial

4) The Glidelock clasp

What I don't like about the DSSD:

1) The reflections from the crystal and bezel insert

2) The too drastic tapering of the bracelet at the clasp

3) The too long diver's link... had to remove it to get the right fit on my wrist.

Still love the DSSD, though, and if I had the funds, I'd buy the 5th.!

I feel the same way, only about its father (16600) and grandfather (1665). To be honest, I think it is awesome that you are completely fired up on just one watch! I have the same feeling - over time I've just come to narrow my focus to the Sea-Dweller family, and the 16600 and 1665 are really all I ever look at anymore.

The DSSD is a beast and a great watch - just too big for my wrists. But, as a member of the SD family, I completely respect it and know where you are coming from!

can see you're based in the US

the sales staff at the Rolex boutique in London call the Deepsea "The American watch"...

Doesn't surprise me at all. There is definitely a different vibe on big watches between USA and Europe.
