Pre owned prices are down at the moment in the uk. BNIB Deepsea on another forum is struggling to sell at £6250.

The RRP includes 20% VAT. Who wants to pay tax on a second hand watch that needs a service?

I wouldnt buy a daytona as an investment piece these days, or really any other rolex...Just because I like them and want to enjoy them.

Having said that, anyone know what the best investment time pieces are these days? or singe best investment watch? Im guessing something in the PP range?

I've posted AD visit reports on TRF and indicated various ADs had SS Daytonas in stock (including one AD who indicated he would discount) and no one seemed to be interested enough to comment.

So my take-away is that these have become easy enough to get at an AD that the thrill is gone at finding one.

Here in Gothenburg the AD will give a discount on a Daytona. They have both dials in stock and had them for at least 6 months.

Sweden is not really participating in the economy crise so it´s not the lack of financial strength. It´s just not a sought after piece here any more.

For some reason, the picture below just brought up the memory from the trip to Hong Kong... During the visit, I noticed all of my best friend's body guards wears SS Daytona !?!

Looked for some time at UK Daytona's but all were too much, got me a Z series from here on TRF for £5800 delivered (US to UK), they're certainly not hard to find any more

Great problem to have mate. The Rolex Daytona has held its value over the years very strong. The going rate in the US is about $10,000 to $11,000 retail.
good luck.

I like the black dials hands more than the white dials
