TO be honest, I just got my 448 and feel like, as a collector/Risti the 249 is the one to behold for the future.... More to the roots and historic

In the end, what does it all matter, right?

For me, Cali dial from the two.. Hence my choice , however, i'll be getting a 449 too shortly... So both, but if you can't have both, then 448

448 for me. Funny I wasn't a fan of the Cali dial in the beginning then one day I woke and just had to have one The 449 is nice but for some reason I like the 425 better. The gold hands seem to work better there

Panerai is screwing their most impotant clients, being the collectors.
Somebody who buys one or 2 Panerai watches, just to have an iconic Luminor like the 111 or Radiomir like the 183 won't see the problem
But those who buy quite a few and collect the so called limited editions will be pissed of one day.
There is NOTHING limited about Panerai anymore. Imagine you did not get a 249 from your AD but you really wanted one for your collection. You bought one second hand with a 100% premium but you're happy with your california dial.
A few years later they make another california dial in gold ... a few years later the 448 with inhouse calibre and at the same time the california 424.
Must give you a good feeling if you paid quite a lot of money for your LE 249 There goes your 'special' dial.

Or what about the 26 and 28 ? Making exactly the same watch 2 times as a limited edition ? WTF ??

Or you bought a 339 because you thought it would be special because of it's composite case , today composite cases are standard production.

I wonder when they will release another bronze. Again, ,that will be great news if you bought a 382 with a HUGE premium

And the insane expensive 399 with Minerva movement. Wanne bet one day they will offer the same witch with a cheaper inhouse Panerai movement.

I was always a big Panerai fan but this is cooling down. Make no limited editions at all or keep them special for ever
I am sorry but I think of that was one ridiculous comment ! Sounds good only when made amongst a bunch of Panerai FANBOYS@ PANERISTI.

If it were up to the collectors, I believe only a 1000 pc LE of DSSD would ever be made ... wont be much fun now.. would it ?

Why shouldn't iconic beautiful pieces with gorgeous dials be made available to people at expensive but reasonably so prices ...

372 did that ... Why would I pay 20K or so to get an 'OMG FIDDY' ?

Watches like 424 and 425 or thr 448 and 449 : should be produced in higher numbers so prices go down and many more watch enthusiasts are able to try these gorgeous timepieces and become PAM LOVERS.

That is what Panerai wants ... To make money and to get a Bigger Fan Base

Making a LE of 250pcs that gets consumed even before it shows its face at ADs is not a way to make profits .. it just appeases the fan boys so they are spend the next year debating the pig dial, date or no-date or the color of the hands .. and spend thousands more to get that piece ..

Fine by me Not my money

I would rather have a gorgeous Cali dial with domed sapphire and OP logo .. i.e. 424 ..
And at a discount please
