I agree that Zenith, JLC, G O, G P, and some others, offer great VFM in-house movement.
But IMHO the prize for best VFM in-house must go to Nomos.

I have had a look at Nomos: granted, their styling is stark and certainly not inspiring (for me), but for VFM they are going to be hard to beat as far as an in house movement goes.
Thanks for enlightening me. Greg |

JLC, based on the fact that they supply movements to other high-end watch companies and that they have created loads of movements, ranging from ultra-thin calibers to tourbillons.

Best movements for ...?
For a high-end sleeper, it is hard to argue with Grand Seiko given their accuracy and hand finishing. Nomos is awesome from the price point. If you want to go with small size (and high end), you can't ignore AP, Patek, VC. Zenith takes the cake for chronograph movements. If you want to feel a person behind the movement, gotta go Dornbluth. This list can go on and on :) |

A zenith el primero movement watch should be in every discerning watch collectors ensemble. Fantastic' robust and accurate mechanism. Zenith make some really nice watches these days though they lost their way a few years back with the defy extreme range!!!

Probable Lange & Söhne as well. And Dornbluth. Lots to choose from :)
