Only a person who has 382 will say such a thing... they literally look alike

I think they should have come out with another historic base model. Maybe a ceramic zero or 111 version. I would've jumped at that.

The 507 seemed like a cop-out -- slight difference to justify being released as a new Special Edition, but similar enough to hopefully repeat the success of the 382?
And still has a hard time understanding why an automatic needs a PR indicator? Panerai has so many iconic submersibles, why can't the new bronzo be based on any of them?! Imagine a bronze 243 or a bronze Kraken(!!) instead of a bronze... er, Bronzo?? |

Think Expandables 2 and I'm not surprised with the launch of 507

When they see it... they see 382... they can't just re-make 382 w/o feeling the heat... hence making something that looks like the 382, but calling it something else is brilliant marketing... the watch will sell

The only thing you can conclude from this release is that Panerai cannot really be trusted. The CEO swore there would never be another bronze model, which obviously turned out not to be true. Perhaps it wouldn't matter for many other brands, but since Panerai has a cult following that is on the passionate side I'm sure there will be many grunts about this.
No single model that really attracts me, the 508 looks cool but 47mm just isn't my cup of tea. |

Being someone who would like to eventually own a 382 @ a reasonable price, this years line-up pleases me. I'm also thrilled I went ahead and picked up a 210 when I did. Hopefully next year the piece I'm waiting for, a 47mm base Rad 372 equivalent, will be released.

Having said that, I'm no fan of the 423 nor the 507 - but that's because maybe I need [some semblance of] symmetry* and while asymmetrical design is certainly not a bad thing, it's just not my thing *That's one of several reasons why the 203 is and will always be one of my favorite PAMs

If we have a 507 'PRonzo' this year, I guess we will have a GMT version next year...

Anyone know the lug width yet on the 512? Really glad to see the look from the 399 trickle down this year. Can't help but wonder if we'll see a base next year. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD |
