Your dad wore it, Now you should wear it and hopefully have the chance to pass it on yourself. You don't want to be the missing link. If you do have family members to pass it on to, I'm sure they would love to be able to say my grandfather wore this watch and so did my father, Now I am wearing it and in future I hope to pass it onto my family.
Not, my grandfather wore it, My father wouldn't wear it because he was too busy playing golf and now I am wearing it haha. Wear it and Enjoy it in good health |

Life is too short; just enjoy the watch! You can't take it with you.

I purchased my first Rolex (a 14K dress watch) for my wife for XMAS 1989. The second watch I purchased was an 18K Lady President with the diamond load on the bezel and dial which I gave the wife on our 25th wedding aniversary. Both these watches are still worn today by the wife and she loves them just as much as the day I gave them to her although I had to scold for wearing the Lady President while gardening. She has even worn it while water skiing!
I know one day in the future these watches will end up on our daughter's wrists. A Rolex is a family heirloom just as much as a wedding ring or other jewelery that is meant to be passed on - even more so because it is mechanical with a beating heart. I am sure fond memories of your father will happen every time you look at the watch. Remember, the same heart is beating on your wrist as your father's. Everytime someone comments on your Rolex it will make you feel proud when you reply "My dad gave it to me." Wear with reverence and pride, and welcome to TRF. J. Alan |

Wear it as your father did and enjoy it.
Life is far too short to worry about it. Wear it and pass it down. |

Wear it - you're not getting any younger and neither is the watch.
It's meant to be worn. |

I am not sure it has been said yet, but I think your dad loving Rolex like he did would want you to wear the heck out of it and enjoy it just like he did!

Gorgeous DD! You won't be alone wearing a DD golfing, as you may know, both Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer both wear their DD's pretty faithfully while playing!

I posted a reply but it got lost somehow. Anyway.....I have to clear up something that got turned around. The pictured Rolex was NOT my Father's watch. He bought this watch for me for my 30th birthday. When he passed away he left me his 14K DJ and I gave it to my oldest son who wears it today. He also left me a SS DJ, and I gave that to my middle Son. I will leave my 18K DD to my youngest son. One of the family businesses was a Diamond store in Hong Kong. There was a Rolex dealer next door. Back in the day, there was a great deal of "Barter" going on as I recall.
