its strange i have no clue what might have caused it...

So you don't believe others who think your tanning bed sessions contributed to your bezel insert fade??

honestly that sounds abit ridiculous, the effects are the same as staying in a sunny day. besides i used the tanning bed only couple of times i dont go regularly. i dont think its the reason. unless abit sunlight makes it fade

LV SUB faded insert?

A little advice from experience:
Stay out of tanning beds if you don't want skin cancer. The sun will do that for you but takes longer.
Take vitamin D instead.

I imagine the tanning bed would also give you a LV-shaped spot on your wrist. ;-)

Not as big a deal as skin cancer of course...

yeah keep making your fun about it =) i appreciate your concerns about my health, i know tanning booths are stupid but i used only few times i doubt either me nor my watch got any damage from it.

anyway ill put the insert in sales section, if nobody picks it up ill just keep it, maybe even rise in value in future

It actually looks good... from the pic anyway

I'd keep the watch as it is if I were you, it looks different and somewhat nice

That is bloody awesome! Seriously, I believe you would receive a premium on the FS section if you ever decided to flip it. One prospective buyer right here!
Congrats.

I meant the lotion residue could have accidentally smeared on your watch. But you seemed convinced it's defective aluminum.

Just wondering, can one still order a flat 4 bezel insert for the LV, or does Rolex only provide the newer pointed 4 bezels for replacements only?

Many years ago I had a GMT Coke. I have to keep things clean (OCD) so I own a ultrasonic cleaner for the other jewelery we own. My wife used to work for a Jewelry company and they used a 50/50 Mr. Clean and water mix for cleaning.

I used that solution weekly for a few years on my GMT by dipping it in (not on) and using a old tooth brush and running water to clean. After 2 years my outer dial was badly faded like yours and I determined it was from the Mr. Clean.

So it may also depend on what your using to clean your watch which also may be contributing to the bad fade of color. I now only use body wash and the tooth brush. I also bought a GMT IIC so it isnt as big a deal any more for me.

The LV's did not all have the same shade of green. Some had an olive green and some a lime green throughout the production run that being said never seen that before and I suspect something is not right.....

I bet if you called RSC and told them you wanted a flat 4 insert for your LV sub instead of the new pointed 4 insert......they wouldn't know what the heck you were talking about
