I don't have a GMT IIc. But I do have a 16710. I prefer the older model GMTs to the new GMT IIc.

I own a SubC & wouldn't consider a GMT yet... unless I had enough money to buy several other watches before I decided my collection needed another sports/tool watch. Nothing against the GMT ii, I just had to get the Sub!

I like the GMTIIc, but I don't love it.
I think the pcls detract from its beauty, although the YG version looks awesome.

I bought a SS GMT2c 3 years ago and it became my most worn watch. I found the two time zones were useful for a Brit spending time in California but last year I had to sell it to pay some builders bills.
As it was a daily wearer I had the pcl's brushed because it had a fair few marks and looked a bit scruffy..
Hopefully I will be able to replace it soon as I miss wearing it.

My brother bought the GMT IIc and loves it. I haven't bought it as it doesn't appeal to me. However, the Explorer I does and I am buying one next week. AM.

Funny, the people who have a problem with PCL's probably "love" the Daytona or YMII yet call the GMT "disco/nite club". Hypocrites, no? I love my GMT IIc. Brushed out the pcl's and it's more comfy than a sub c. Get over it people, it's just a watch!

Well I am a bit GMT nvts!!! Part of the reason is that for me its a tool watch... I am always in different timezone so it really helps me track Home time and Local time easily! I can't do with out my GMT's...

I had GMT IIc for 3 years, then traded for hulk, then bought EXP II... I never look back. I just couldn't deal with PCL like some folks here.

not really hypocrites. The daytona does not have a ceramic bezel ( YET). As such, the PCL compliments the whole watch as a whole.

I don't. Have two subs among my collection though so will not be getting a SS GMTIIc unless its the full YG version!

I brushed the PCL on my gmtiic and it has become one of my favs in the rolex line after the dayto.

I don't get it when people say "i don't like the pcl because i like to keep it original.."
It's a pity because the iic is such a solid piece, to not try it or buy it because of the pcl, which is basically brushable and polishable, is missing the whole enjoyment of it.

Previously i disliked the blocky case of the iic. But after trying it on a few times, i find that it sits perfectly flat on the wrist so much so it's like part of you.

I also have the old iconic sub when i wanna feel lighter.

I agree with you about the pcls but not at all about the case. It fits fine, its not too heavy, its too crude. the curves and swoops of the classic case are just to marvelous to make such a shoddy change. FYI, I think the new EII case is pretty spectacular. I dont like that watches dial or hands but the case is awesome

I am ok with the case design, no complaints on that.

Maybe the PCL is the root of my misery! :)

Any pics from owners here who have brushed off the bling on their GMT IIc?
