All you need to do is make yourself happy. If wearing a Rolex makes you happy then go for it. I'm just a poor working guy and my watches bring me happiness. So do other things. There are no rules or requirements.

Deserve?
No one "deserves" anything. If you earn it, and what it, of course you can wear it.

If you have a wrist, you can wear a Rolex.
It's not any more complicated than that. Don't make it more complicated! |

Go for it Pontus! It's all about appreciation and enjoyment of finer things in life. If you appreciate a Rolex you deserve to own and wear one.

I bought a Seamaster Professional when I was 15 and a Sea Dweller when I was 17. I had saved the money that I earned playing live music specifically to buy a watch. I'm an enthusiast of all things mechanical, vintage cars, planes, ships and of course watches. I'm never going to be able to buy a plane, a ship, a vintage Bugatti, Bentley or Rolls Royce but I can have a watch if I sacrifice other things and save hard enough.
Like many have said, you don't need to be wealthy, just determined enough to work hard enough to get your goal. |

I kind of get where the OP is coming from...alot of people seem to think if you have a Rolex, you must have piles of excess cash laying around. It's absurd, but that's what alot of people think(at least in the circles I live within).
It's just a watch, and if anyone with some amount of discretionary income wants one, it's within reach, and just a matter of deciding priorities and saving for it. |

alot of people think nothing of dropping $10 or more a day on a bad habit...but would think it frivolous to have an expensive watch that could be bought from the savings of quitting within a year. |

that is rather harsh statement. actually very few people can afford it and should be rather grateful that we can. i have friends with two diplomas earning less in a year than my everyday sub is worth.

People will always "type-cast", "profile", jump to conclusions, etc based upon their own assumptions. It's outside of your control. You can only truly control your actions & emotions.
Buy & wear it with pride. Just exercise caution in certain situations. |

Only requirement to ownership is the money to obtain one or a really nice friend or relative.

Dont let Rolex marketing cloud your view about who is allowed to own what.....a crown for every achievement blah blah.
you earned your money, you can buy whatever you want and enjoy it if it makes you happy.

Including me. I was referring to basic $100 Seikos you can get at the outlet stores. I am well aware of how good the Spring Drives are. I was also recently in negotiation for a GS quartz, but couldn't get the price I wanted. I currently own a basic $150 Seiko which I got for $75 and it's lost 5 seconds in 3 months.
