Its just a shame that the scum aren't man enough to wear a uniform and meet on a battlefield rather than creeping about in the shadows and attacking civilians...

It is the new asymmetrical conflict we will see more of in the future. State-sponsored cyber attacks, terror-based attacks on low scale and large ones.

Yeah, it's it's time to go on the offensive instead of being politically correct all the time

We have been doing that for over a decade.

It might be time for a different approach.

Did not you already have conveyed such a horrible story. I put exactly the same. 12 dead, according to police

Me as well. I just travelled to visit my family in NH, so I'm less than an hour north of Boston. I am very, very sad. This was my old hood in college.

100 injured and 50 dead. Terrible. Police had also disarmed one or more bombs ....

You need to check your facts - that is not factual.

I appreciate the news and the sharing of feelings and support during this crazy, awful and destabilizing time.

Just want to say, let's try to keep the politics out of this. We have no idea why this happened, and, anyway, this probably isn't the best place to discuss it anyway.

One thing strikes me regarding what I have seen..first bomb...draw in the first responders, then second bomb. I don't have the words for that.

As a frequent competitor in similar events, and a former LEO/firefighter and paramedic, my heart goes out to all concerned. Honestly I'm surprised this kind of international event hasn't been hit before, but that is for another day.

I am so sorry for the families and the people of Boston. Blessings on the world at this time of insanity. This was my college neighborhood.

Just watched the Police Commissioner give his second press briefing and then watched the president speak. They didn't add many facts, details are very spotty as you would imagine, and there are some contradictions from earlier statements. Very fluid scene and investigation is ramping up and they are being very careful to not misreport facts. I was driving home on a major highway about an hour ago that leads to Boston and an FBI convoy with about 6 large vehicles past me. They are saying that there are multiple folks with missing limbs and blown ear drums as one would expect with this kind of assault.

One of the confirmed deceased is an 8 year old child.

There is nothing worse than an innocent child being the victim of a senseless act of violence. My prayers go out to the family of that child and to the individuals and families hurt by this attack.

A runner was interviewed live and he used the words, "many amputees" and that comports with what you heard.

I want to respect the fact we are not sure if this is domestic or foreign sponsored terror.

I've been at that finish line many times.
My thoughts go out to the many victims and their families, and to those who will be working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

I never ran Boston - but did the ATL Marathon many times. I was average runner and would have been a 4hr.-ish finisher.

The bombs at finish line went off 4:09 into the race - and one can't forget that the 2012 Boston Marathon average times show the bulk of runners finish between 3:30-4:30...
