wow that was a crazy read. Cancun use to be a safe area a few years back but its progressively getting worst. I have a friend that works in the mining industry that has to travel to Mexico once a month and the story he tells me are pretty shocking. Bare in mind he is south american and originally from Peru. so he is use to being in south america. according to him Mexico as of late is just deteriorating from the inside out.

To the OP I would really adhere to the others sentiments about keeping your valuables at home. its really not about having your watch stolen or about being robbed. its more about actually getting hurt.
