Sorry guys i know i will regret it but i just feel like i will enjoy the GMT IIc as an everyday watch. I know im crazy but this is a BNIB watch and one that i have always wanted to own. This will be the watch i pass down to my kid when the time is right!

I'm a big believer that if you are going to have one really nice watch it should be the newest/best-condition Rolex that your budget will allow. If the market will let you get a decent price for your 1680, go get the GMT. Vintage isn't the way to go for everyone, and since there is not emotional connection to the 1680, I'd go with the newer watch.

Here's why...
You will never know what watch you really love, until you own it...
Should you end up missing the 1680, you can always get another...
You will never know unless you give it a try...
There-in lies part of the fun...
Cheers
