Hello Gentlemen, Egelber.
I too am new to this fora, with this being my first post. I find myself largely in agreement with Frostie. This particular SD is no longer just a watch, it is the watch your wife gave you. She may say she doesn't care if you trade it and probably doesn't. But, she is a woman. If she's anything like my wife, she will always feel somewhat diminished in not knowing your preference and a little hurt that her effort didn't mean more. If it were me, I'd keep the SD (you'll eventually want one anyway) and keep my wife happy. Tempus Fugit, Trainer |

well ultimately you'll be the one wearing the watch.... doesn't matter who gives you the gift, your wife or your dying mother.
If the gift is not something you are happy with, trade it or sell it. Othersie it will sit there and you'll pass it to your kids and those bastids will sell it for penny on the dollar. On a similar note, my wife likes my hircut a certain way but I don't. So I tell her it is my hair and I have to deal with it everyday not you ...so she understands and I keep my hair cut my way. If your wife has any respect for you, she will understand and encourage you to get whtat your heart wants. In this case though, believe me, once you handle SD, other rollies seem light and you'll want your SD forever...so don't feel pressured...or without telling her go to the AD and handle a sub and your SD right away ... the first feeling you get, go with it ... that's the truth you are feeling and act on it before it gets clouded by everyday pressures and misconceptions ...most likely you'll be coming back with the SD .....the SD does that to people .... you''re not the first one!!! |

In my opinion, you already have a better watch. The trade that is offered to you sounds great, but I would keep SD.First,it`s a gift(a wonderful one indeed!) and second, damn it`s a SD!!!
(I can`t help it,I`m a big fan of SD!) |

Keep the SD.
It's more exclusive.

The SD is a much less common watch if that counts for anything.

Come on, trade it, you know you want to. No body will know. We won't tell anyone.

I think you should trade it too.
I love the Sea Dweller no doubt, but the Submariner to me is still my choice because of two reasons: 1. 1000 feet of water resistance is more than enough for me so I don't really need a watch that goes any deeper than that. Though the SD is more rugged than the Sub, the extra water resistance would just be for show in my case. 2. I really like the cyclops lens on my watches and to me, its definitely a trademark of the brand. So, I prefer the date magnifier there not just to help me see the date better but also because I love it there. Plus, you trade in your SD for a newer Z series Sub. Sounds like a great trade in my book.
