I've gone through the same dilemma over the winter and went to the boutique and tried the 372 on. Salesman said it looked perfect! I disagreed and went back to work empty handed. Here were a few pics I took comparing to the 111 I had owned. It just didn't look right with my 6 3/4" wrist.

Agree - both are too big. If you're rocking a 6.5" wrist, you need to be looking at watches no larger than 42mm, and probably closer to 40mm imo. Any larger and it almost looks comical.

That 372 is huge on you. Obviously the dealer just wants to make a sale.

Honestly, I think it looks great. You'd be surprised how much the angle of a photograph has to do with the perception of size. Stand in front of a mirror and take a look, I'm sure it looks fine. That's how others will see the watch. Sometimes looking at it on your own wrist doesn't convey the true proportions.

I visited the IWC boutique a few weeks ago and tried on a BP that looked a bit large on my wrist. They had a full length mirror on the wall and, after looking through it, came away loving the fit. Try it.

On the other hand ... If you feel you cannot pull it off ... And you do worry about what others might think ... Just don't get a 47mm watch ...

For every person you find, who likes it, there is one who does not ... YOU have to like it.

I would never wear a watch with diamonds ... But there are thousands here on the forum who love them ... Same for YG DD ... Me never .... But to each their own.

YOU have to like it.

Btw. I let my Big Pilot go because it was too big on my wrist, i did not like it .... Now my 372 is bigger, but wears and fits much better ... For my taste.

If the lugs overhang, it is too big IMO .. If they don't, the watch is all yours !

Regardless, you wear a watch for yourself not for others .. If u did, Rolex is all one would sport !

So, in the end, choose the one you love most and wear it with "Attitude".

imho the 47mm pams look way to big on a 6.5" wrist... especially if you take the strap into consideration. i dont like it when you can see the end of the strap and keeper etc. because its on a small wrist. fortunately for me i have tree trunks. just over 8" ..

BUT i would trade to have 7" wrists so i could "fit" more watches.. besides being 8" its really flat. so imho 43 and down look tiny on my wrist.. but after all its your watch and if you like to wear it so be it... :)
