Can anyone tell me if the Mario Paci and other straps on offer at timeconnection.biz are on par with the ones mentioned above?

The Mario Paci straps are hand made in the Cuoierie Meccaniche Brelli in Castelfiorentino, Italy. This was the same shop that made the Original OEM straps for Panerai from 1938 to 1997.
Mario Paci was the Chief Engineer for Panerai from 1983 to 1997 and it was he who designed the PAV straps in addition to the others made famous in the 1990's. All of the leather's used are from Tuscany and the lady who stitches the straps has been doing it for the past 55-60 years. Elliot |

I can vouch for Mario Paci straps. I ordered on for my 422 recently (along with a few for 44mm PAMs). The straps are superb. Because they're thick and don't taper, I think they make the 47mm watches look smaller, and the combination more proportional.

This is a great thread. I have few straps from http://www.manifatturefirenze.it/home.php They are really nice and great quality, really well made.
Dirk is also really nice, I have one with sawn in PVD buckle and it matches Panerai really well, the quality is also top notch. I never wear OEM straps as I need an extra hole and don't want to do add it, so I only order custom sized straps, that said they all seem better then OEM ones. |

Great inputs any ABP croco, gators and special tannings?
If the pricing for a ABP is around the same as the JV oem, which would you choose?

Wherever you buy straps don't buy any at "watchStyle", they are not responsive and sent me a strap that I can't put even though 5 minutes after my order I sent them a message saying that I made a mistake and needed the strap in 24mm and not 26mm, not a single word from them until today I receive the strap which of course is in 26....
