There is no "New" "most popular Rolex".
The current "most popular Rolex" was never dethroned. It is still the "Rolex Submariner." Now if what you meant was, what is the "fastest rising in popularity" watch from out of Basel 2013, then yes, probably the BLNR GMT. |

I'd say overall it's datejust. Sub second.

Among watch collectors the submariner is probably most popular: among the general watch buying public the datejust is.

Not sure what the OP's source was, nor what group the OP was referencing---most popular among whom? And, most popular among what? All Rolexes, or just among Rolex GMTs?
I'd be curious to know Rolexes sales figures, to see how the new blue/black GMT is doing, as compared to the all black GMT, or as compared to the sports models, or to the entire line. In the TRF world of GMT aficionados, there seems to be a split...the traditionally inclined, who savor the classic models from years past (Pepsi, Coke, et al) and those who relish the features of the current model. My first Rolex was a GMT with the black/red bezel. It's my personal favorite among the Rolex GMT models. I can appreciate the new model, but mine remains "just right" for me. If I were to buy a new GMT, though, it would be the black/blue variant. I like it. However, I've got my eye on that Omega Speedmaster '57! |

My first Rolex was a GMT as well. I have had Subs and Daytonas. But IMO the DJ has to be the most popular. Maybe not on this forum but in the general public world wide.
Not sure why this thread comes up from time to time except for some people to validate their choice. |

You referring to the expensive maintenance?
