I imagine the op was referring to the ti version which DOES look good on the promo shots but pants in reality/on the wrist. Too grey, too bland, just not a good combo at all and without the Schumacher link I imagine it would have been a slow seller.
The rose gold version on the other hand is stunning. |

im still surprised by this poll - the schumi crushes it....but if you went by postings on this forum you would have thought the GP would have been the clear winner.
must be an ultra-vocal minority :) |

I had the opposite experience. Website pics were not very enticing, but when I saw the Ti and RG Schumis in person I had to buy them both. I wish I could take pics that would do them justice...

I don't agree at all. It may be a gray scale watch, but there is incredible depth and contrast between the different materials and material textures. I never would have bought the Ti version based on pictures. When I saw how incredibly versatile the contrasts were in different lightings and at different angles I had to have it. I haven't seen pictures yet that capture that depth and those varieties of contrasts. I have to wonder how some people don't see it, but then I remember that color hue perception is a measurable ability that lies on a spectrum, and not everyone has excellent color hue perception (no joke...), so perhaps they are just not strong in that ability (or maybe they have something against Schumacher or the current popularity of the watch...). |

but this poll is the exact opposite of what i thought reflected the forum mentality (as much as such a large group of individuals could have a common one). for the record, im really torn between both of these! they are an awesome pair! |

I would still take the Ti Schumi over the FC GP.
That being said...I got to see the RG schumi in person and its far better than any other ROO I've seen. |

The rose gold version though is a different matter...unfortunately my dealer only got one and just as the ti had my name on it the rg had someone else's name on it so I missed out. ...if you can see incredible depth in the grey scale then that's great...personally I've never been able to see beauty when there is none but that's my loss. |

FC GP has a lot of colors on dial. Schumi win.

I think the Schumi is nice, I like it even though its a tad monotone. I just prefer my GP more given I love technical looking things, and carbon!!! :) |

I have 3 main issues with the Grand Prix which are following: 1. The red and yellow colors on dial make it difficult to pull off with a suit or formal dress shirt and I wear a suit to work 4 days a week. It seems like it will look great on casual wear but it has limited versatility in its ability to be worn daily with formal wear as the watch is very sporty looking. 2. The forged carbon composite although very light and hides surface scratches well gets chipped and dings on the edges and when that happens to the case it becomes a very costly and time consuming replacement. The bezel is cheap to replace but main concern was the case. I have seen many used ones for sale and a lot of them have very beaten up edges where the carbon material is missing. 3. They made far too many for a limited edition of 1750 should have been 1250 or 1000 units which is why the resale is not as strong. |

I have to admit, as a child of the 70s and 80s, something about the Schumi Ti really hits a home run in how it reminds me of die cast Matchbox and Hot Wheels race cars from my childhood. It has incredible overlap for me aesthetically with positive memories that overdetermines the pleasure it brings me...

Seriously, I buy what I love. Nothing moves me like my Grand Prix, sorry, point blank… And my AP collection is pretty large right now, oh well. Glad we all have different options, to please each others different tastes |

That is more important at the end of the day than what the majority think albeit it may affect resale. Enjoy the GP in good health!! |

Hey, I agree with you and I LOVE the GPC it's my favorite LE. I love the design and materials and the overall racing theme. BUT, an RB2 is an RB2 is an RB2....

I may be in the minority, but I am not a fan of the RB2 design either. I could have gotten one instead of a Ti or RG Schumi; it just doesn't do it for me. I don't think it is a bad looking watch, but some of the design seems not very well thought to me...

I'm in the minority with you too... Tho the RB2 is a nice piece, it's by no means the best ROO AP has to offer. I too would take a Ti Schumi over the RB2.

To me the RB2 has very similar design to Schumacher what design aspects don't you like specifically I am curious.

There are a lot of things I do like about it, and I do think it is overall a nice looking watch, but there are other pieces I would put higher up on my list aesthetically, like the Montoya.... |
