Naw, she is just a WG person. But you gotta mix it up to keep it interesting! I do like the WG sub, but for some reason I think that as a daily wear would be harder to match than YG. It is a cool blue though

I wore 18k YG Subs daily for years, without any soft gold problems.

This is why you need WG and/or platinum Rolexes as well. Renders the need for modern steel pointless! Vintage and precious metal's where it's at baby!! |

I tend to think gold pieces look better on leather straps, but I'm with the young crowd...

Yellow gold is so classic, it will never go out of style. SS has a few things going for it. It's cheaper than gold, it's more durable, and it has a more casual look.

No way.
They look pretty special indeed, however, not for me… I wound up going for a sporty gold piece (rose gold rubber clad AP) and its new still sitting in the box lol… Some people love gold, some do not.. |

No, steel is still my preferred metal for any watch made for rigorous activity. I'm hoping to explore the luxurious world of YG later on in life, but preferably on a JLC Master Control or Reverso Classique on leather strap.

I am new to Rolex and really like the SS Sub. TT or solid YG don't appeal to me....some how too much bling. Maybe a 18K DD.

I love YG. I'm 38 and got married nearly 2 years ago and whilst my wife wanted her ring and engagement ring to be in platinum, I chose 18k yellow gold. It does present me with a slight difficulty though as I like my watch to match my wedding ring (slightly anal like that, as many of us are). So, this means that when I am able to finally purchase (upcoming house move, renovation and recently born baby daughter permitting) it will have to be a TT Daytona (as seen in my Avatar) or maybe even my grail YG Daytona on strap as seen in NickNG's recent crazy two incoming Daytona thread from last week. I love YG and although I'm not sure I would use a full gold piece for daily wear as might be a bit much, the black leather just tones it down slightly. I think YG is hot with the younger crowd now.

SS will always be #1. Just feels like it's ready for anything.
YG is beautiful, but I reserve it for nicer occasions. |

Have loved gold even from a young age. Not for what it implies just the color. 25 and got a half rose gold. Still love gold. Those that say gold is old fashioned IMO it just implies they don't know how to dress in a classy way to compliment the gold.

I thing YG only works well with he deessier watches. Sport watches look better in SS or WG in my opinion. As mentioned above a yellow gold watch is going to draw a lot of attention, and I don't mean the good kind of attention.

My wife also hated YG on me. RG seems to be a bit more attractive.

In short, no. YG is a huge price spike and most rolex enthusiasts still rather enjoy SS, I know I do. However, this will not hold me back from going YG one day.

Steel is tough and practical...tool worthy. Gold is elegant and glorious...jewel worthy. Enjoy it all!
