I think the salesman was trying to push through his sales that's all.
Rolex watches are very versatile, they can usually go both formal and casual. So relax and wear your GV however way you want it to be. Remember, you carry the watch and not the other way around.

I used to work in that type of a sales scene.. And yes, he was trying to sell you a Breitling for sure!!! But he should have done it a little less rudely though.. I am wearing my Milguass with a light thin hoodie and a pair of khaki cargo shorts... I think it looks good!

The GV Milgauss is a beauty. Typical Tourneau salesmen techniques. I, personally have been in 2 or 3 Tourneaus and all their salesmen seem to be cut from the same cloth. They must have a School for training idiot salespeople. I have found that they either ignore you or are all over you trying to smother you. Never will I venture into another one.

One of my favorite modern Rolex watches. I think it goes well in all occasions (like most modern Rolex).
I can't think of why he would say that, there must have been some motive to sell Breitling. |

Firstly, it's green and has an orange lightning bolt as one of the hands... Awesome, but not dressy in my book.
Secondly, I wouldn't take any style advice from a jewelry/watch salesman unless he is well groomed and impeccably dressed, which is almost never the case. Most of the time, they are wearing ill fitting suits so I would just nod politely and do whatever i want to do without further thought on what they said. |

Plain and simple, salesman is an idiot trying to make a sale to a knowledgeable watch collector and exposed his ignorance.

Found the GV I owned was too flashy with those PCL's. I had many people comment about how shiny the bracelet was in comparison to the matte dial and subdued green crystal....

I think anyone working at Tour-nut is probably a little slow in the head. Don't worry about it.

Absolutely love your pic!!!! And everything you're wearing works great with the GV!!! I wear mine with all types of attire. I think it's the perfect all around watch! Of course there is no date, but if I had wanted the date I wouldn't have gotten the GV... SO I'm quite thrilled!!!

The GV looks awesome with denim. I used to wear mine with jeans and a pocket tee all the time.

Dude. You should not even be concerning urself with this.
A gold day date looks AMAZING with jeans and sneakers. Surely you can wear that gorgeous GV with anything. Or nothing at all, which is how I prefer to wear my watches.

Ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous.
Wear it like you wish. It looks fine dressed up or down. It's your watch and you can wear it as you please. |

LOL wow.. the GV too dressy? He'd probably keel over if someone walked in with a YG DD and jeans / t-shirt. Talk about poor tactics to sell something.. I guess it must work on some people??

Not a fan of them. I also wouldn't care what anyone thinks. But and wear what you love.

That salesman is an idiot. Maybe he should be wearing a breitling. It seems to be about the caliber of person he is.

IMHO, PCLs make any SS tool watch look dressy......the current GMTs, Daytonas, Milgausses...tool watches turned into jewel watches......maybe it's ok on a DJ.....& I prefer DJs w/ brushed links on an oyster band. IMHO, a brushed oyster band can be dressy & casual depending on ones attire, etc.
All I can say about this state of affairs is....bah humbug.

There are salesmen and then there are SALESMEN.
I get a big laugh out of some of the things people say when they are trying to sell you something. There's often an opportunity to 'take the p155' I'm never offended by people who simply wouldn't know. You're wearing the Rolex!
