I would keep the SD. I took out my sub last night and compared to the SD. The SD just FEELS more solid to me (I am biased, remember) with its heft and thickness. The caseback engraving is cool, as Coop mentioned. Plus, like you said, there is nothing like owning a watch bought from an AD yourself.

Financially, you do take more of a hit on resale for the SD compared to the Sub. But if financial gain is all that we are after, most of us would not buy Rolex in the 1st place...

BTW, awesome SD pics, everyone!

I have a Sub...I prefer the Sub. My 1st buy was a SD and I exchanged it for my Sub. Anyway, I would keep the watch that I bought myself. You say you know the guy that has the other watch is legit, that may be true. You don't know what, if anything, has happened to it since then. The two are so close is quality, style and price, I just don't see a reason to swap. That's my .02 cents.

I'm not a big SD fan, but I just don't see any point in the trade unless the two of you truly both believe that you chose wrong initially.

That doesn't appear to be the case on your part...

If you feel that you will still be wearing that SD in a decade.....your choice is clear...

Sea Dweller

Sea Dweller is the way to go...is Exclusive and feels more sportier. I know I just got one less then a week. I look at all the Professional line. And this Sea Dweller is by all means is the best!!!

The Dweller is materially more substantial than the Submariner. The Sea Dweller is a commercial grade diving tool, much more so than the Sub. Furthermore, the Sea Dweller is also a Submariner, it is the flagship of the Submariner line. The only reason that the price is not substantially higher than the Sub is due to marketing, not due to what the Dweller actually is, the cream of the crop diving watch from Rolex.

Agree with you, Bro...That engraving make SD look so exclusive than other sport models.

KEEP THE SD!!

Seriously, you already gave the nod to the SD. The SS Sub Date is less expensive than the SD and much more common in the marketplace. The SD is the iconic tool watch and engineered to different, higher demands. I believe, based on your prior posts, that you would be sad to have parted with the SD.

Besides, both of these watches are about the same age and in the same condition (I assume). Both purchased in late 2007 BNIB from an AD. The SS Sub is worth less financially, but, of course, there are several other non-financial considerations here as well.

Personally, I'd stick with the cleaner, heavier, harder-core engineered SD.

If the SD is what makes you happy, then just go with the SD. You can't go wrong with any sports Rolex!! Or any Rolex for that matter!!
