Personally, I would have liked more than 15 % but he won't give me more than that.

If I buy it, I will buy a non Omega high quality rubber strap for it.
You can find better deals on line Bo. At least here in the states. But 15% is good from an AD also.

A good friend of mine had the same watch with the Omega OE rubber strap. You can't beat that strap. It's smooth like butter

Thanks, Paulie. But the this specific SMP comes with a steel bracelet only. And an OE rubber strap costs DKR. 1,500 (300 Dollars approx.).

But I have this strap on a Junghans watch I have already, and that strap is top quality, too, and very, very smooth and flexible.

If I buy an Omega, it will be from a gray dealer since, as great watches as they are, Omegas take a beating on resale. Most online gray dealers offer 20-30% off MSRP, which is acceptable to me.

Great purchase. Enjoy your and wear it well.

The SMP does offer Outstanding value if purchased pre-owned. I've had this one a few years. She still gets a pretty decent amount of wrist time

Not so fast Texsubmariner, I have a little different take on the resale subject. Everyone here knows how Rolex likes to keep their watches as close to MSRP as possible, most of us have probably heard the line "Rolex doesn't allow us to give discounts" sometime in our life. We are all pretty excited to pull 10-15%. Now their is Omega, I have found numerous AD's that will give 30%, it is extremely common. My local AD was offering 30% after a private conversation with the sales guy but I chose to buy from a friends AD because he was offering 30% and no sales tax, if I bought a my local one, their was tax. So those are the facts right, now lets consider resale. It may look on paper (considering MSRP's and the price on the sales corner) that the Omega's have lost more on resale when the fact is that they sell for less because 30% discounts are easy to come buy, so obviously that affects the resale value. That is why Rolex police's their AD's a little more, they want it to look like they have good resale value, and they do as we all know. Now dollar for dollar, looking a various watch forums and considering the MSRP's VS what people are actually paying for their respective watches, you actually lose more cash selling you Rolex due to the higher dollar amount of the watch. Just my little observation, makes total sense to me.......Trevor

Congrats!

A awesome watch bro! Welcome to the Omega Club.... I agree my Rolex bracelet does feel cheap when compared to a Omega's. You should check out my PO bracelet... it's a tank!

Wear it with pride...

It is absolutely gorgeous and making me think I may not want a Rolex Sub as my next watch...

Nice pieces all. Looks like the Rolex has stopped (showing 10 past 3) while the Marathon and Omega are running at quarter past 12...? You let the Rolex run down... for shame ;-)

Cheers

Got my SMP GMT for 25 % off from an Omega AD in Norwich....but that was in the New Year Sales. As both the SMP featured in this thread and the GMT are both being discontinued, there should be some really hot deals to be had with AD's who are looking to get rid of old stock.
Happy hunting.....
