Personally I can't see any reason to have a watch like this you can't wear. None of my watches were bought as investments. I see my watch collecting as a hobby. Investments for retirement, future, etc. are an entirely different thing. If you don't see yourself wearing it soon, I would sell.

I also have a BNIB LV that I am saving....but for a different reason. My son loves the LV that I wear, so when I heard they were going to change, I picked one up from DavidSW. I'm not sure when I'm going to give it to him, maybe after her graduates from college or when he gets married. Although, If I could double my money, I would seriously think about selling it and give him mine that I have been wearing.

I'd keep it. Do you have children or maybe another young family member that you would enjoy passing it to down the road?

Doubling your money is a great thing and I would have no way of telling how much more of an increase you can get if you would continue to hold on to it.
If you were looking to make another purchase, needed the money to go toward the new purchase and had a buyer lined up, I would sell. But if you are having heartburn just thinking about selling it, then don't do it until you are ready. Just keep it |

Pretty simple really. Keep it if you don't need the money or enjoy knowing it's there. Sell if neither is true ... or if you live in a dangerous neighborhood ;-)

£5700 is a fantastic price. I can't see them creeping up much past this to be fair. I just sold my "y" series from 2003 from £5800, granted it wasn't stickered but it was much rarer than yours. Id say sell it and enjoy the one you wear. If you think it's going to go up 25,50 100 per cent in next few years from £5700 I just can't see it. You can still pick up used LVs for £4k privately so a stickered set to me is probably nudging £5k tops. eBay, dealer etc £5700 is really good if you can achieve it. Take it and run.

Unless you want to keep it for the next 50 years in the same condition, sell it.

Thought I would like the LV but green just wasn't for me so I traded it for a lady Yachtmaster for the wife. No regrets

I would sell it if you find something else that you would wear and enjoy.

Bnib lv sold
Thank you all for your contributions and advice. Yesterday I decided to sell it for the cash offer of £5600 + £80 towards my train fare. Buyer will be removing case stickers and wearing it...One less BNIB LV now...
This is the watch that my buyer had on...It is steel and cost him £29.000! |

By the way - I worked out this statistic - For the 59 months that I had this BNIB LV in my drawer, it went up in value at a rate of £44.91p/month - Better interest than cash in the bank!

I feel this way years ago you plotted down some cash and bought a watch that never was worn or enjoyed. Right there in my eye is a waist of money. So any profit you make now is not really profit. Does that make sense ? I don't know.

Not really. He made money so that is profit right? He enjoyed owning it, taking it out once in awhile for a look and knowing it was there if he ever needed to sell it for something else.

I don't get it...Profit=Profit and he enjoyed the watch those years in his own way.
