Thanks for all the input, I think it's something I would do now.

I'd do it. The 114060 has everything you need in a Sub.

I started with a 16610. Traded up to a 116610. Great watch. I did get rid of it for a 16610LV. There's no wrong answer. It's just what sings to you more.

Everything except the date, but I guess that's why I chose the 116610.

I was on the verge of doing the same but ended up buying the 114060 which has not left my wrist since. It is a huge aesthetic upgrade and the ceramic bezel imparts a fantastic wrist presence, which in my opinion, the 16610 never really had. Ironically, I only use the 16610 in the pool and when biking, probably what the sub was designed for anyway!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for someone looking to step back to a 16610, might get lucky.

I've had a ton of Rolex and the 114060 is my favorite. Do it!

I would be careful about pulling the trigger on something you got used to and now only looks alright - I've only not regretted pulling the trigger on watches that just worked on my wrist 100 percent, no reservations, other than price

Hi Andy, they're both great watches, but different. My preference would be the 114060 but there's nothing wrong with what you've got. Just different. Don't think there'd be too much in the price. (Im a Southampton boy by the way. Just down the road).

Well, I absolutely loved my old 14060, the simplicity of the dial and the symmetry, plus I didn't miss the date as I usually remember it. There's just aspects of the 114060 that sing to me, and to be honest as long as I've got a submariner on my wrist I'll be happy. The reason I got rid of the 14060 was lack of lume (tritium) and the bracelet rattle, so got the SEL 16610 which is very good. The more i see the 114060 the more I like it.
CJ01, small world, think I'll have to come to your neck of the woods for an AD from now on, we only had ernest jones and they have stopped dealing rolex. Don't know why.

I'd make the trade. You obviously want to. You'd have to pony up about £600 I would think.

I'm hoping not to hand over any cash, but time will tell, I'm in no rush.

Yes, it is a small world. Was hoping to get my first (which could be the 114060) from EJ in Pompey, via my Signet discount, but clearly not anymore. Shame. Full price now. Charles Fox in bmth is good but not much room for manoeuvre price wise I hear.

I would never buy new anyway to be honest, pre-owned is the way to go. I don't know what happened to ernest jones, but they've stopped being a distributor, must have had a falling out or something.
