Hey you live and learn, you probably wouldn't have used a Trusted Dealer here anyway as it takes a bit of time to build up the trust in both our opinion and the TDs themselves. So enjoy your WG sub which is much nicer than the Daytona ofc, and next time you will know how to get a better deal.

Yikes, bad deal for sure.....but it's your money. As long as you're happy.

Speaking directly: It was an OK deal. Not a special deal...BUT ARE YOU HAPPY? That is what counts. Over the years I have made enough good and bad deals...even selling real estate I acquired. It all comes out in the wash. Don't grade your feeling of "success" on the outcome or cost of only one transaction. Look at it spread out over a year or even 10. On balance have you done well? If yes, then you have indeed done well.

Congratulations and cherish that thing like you stole it. Certainly well worth a hundred dollars here and there, more and less.

The whole thing is about balance....

I'll tell you straight - you got screwed. Enjoy your
Sub.
Wow, tough crowd! Listen, you got an amazing watch and did better than retail. Tons of people walk into Rolex boutiques and pay retail, which I believe is about $37K now, not including taxes, for the white gold Sub. That doesn't mean they all got bad deals. Plus you got it from an AD with all stickers, etc … Enjoy a great watch!

+1. Its like when you trade in your old car to purchase a new one. You are always going to get a "better" deal if you had sold your old car privately instead of trading it in to your dealer. For me, I don't mind not getting the "best" deal because I value my time and prefer the convenience.

Thank you all for the prompt replies. One other question, the watch was shipped to me, but did not have the stickers on it. They were all removed? The warranty does state the date I bought the watch. Not sure if this is strange.

The dealer probably removed the stickers before they shipped the watch to you. Make sure the serial number engraved above the 6 position matches the serial on your warranty card. The warranty card was supposed to be filled out by the dealer with your name and date at the time of purchase for the warranty to be technically valid.

Solid point, could have got involved in headache on top of the deal.
How much is it worth for you to have peace of mind and everything handled professionally?
Enjoy, lets see some wrist shots

the only thing I'd add to that is that certain trusted sellers here (OCROLEXGUY for one) will also take trades.

That is true.... We are adults here buying luxury watches so,..... Its only money and every now and then getting what you want is worth taking a beating. I have a sickness where I can't pay msrp for anything so I am just going to imagine his SS Daytona kept lousy time and needed a service and wasn't super clean. Then he got a good deal on many levels .

You did well IMO. You can't compare buying here from buying new from an AD. Worry free transaction is worth it's weight in white gold! Just ask the guy in the other thread whose bezel fell off 3 months after he bought it here from a trusted seller here and it's out of warrantee! Don't worry about it and Enjoy an incredible piece

One just needs to close their eyes and take the boot.

Congrats on the piece.

Like you said, you love the watch.
If parting with the 24g's didn't hurt and you now have your grail, move forward and enjoy your Sub.
It's always a good deal if you leave with a smile on your face
