I looked all over the internet last year to ID the thing before I got it serviced.
At 0.5128 exchange rate that would be 1,852.57. So I guess it was not a great choice to have it fixed given the history. My step son does like it though and my plan was to give it to him anyway since it belonged to his grand father. |

I would really like to see some Wilsdorf and Davis' if anyone has any! Al? Would you mind? If I could get my hands on one of those one day and restore it I would wear it with a finely tailored english suit to a wedding or the like :)

The case (silver) has an English hallmark for 1908, the same year Wilsdorf & Davis registered the name Rolex. That was part of my attraction to it. I'm meeting with a watchmaker in Toronto tomorrow afternoon to discuss the restoration.
