Could sand = silver? Reminder: this question is coming from one who's colorblind.

I searched for silver and I donīt think it is the sand dial... It looks grey and judging by the amount of pictures on google, I donīt think it is the rarest. But, I could be wrong.....

The dial is a pale real sandy colour with Arabic numerals and sand coloured counters. This sand colour “Tiger” Tudor 79270 dial was a special edition only released around two hundred pieces of this model world.

Thanks, Dan. I had to save the pics for future reference as they are the only ones I could find...

Wow... 200 sounds like the most limited watch produced by Rolex perhaps? Thanks for the info, Peter!

I'm not a fan of having another guys name on my watch in general, but have to be honest and say the scandals really killed any chance on me owning one of these. I was looking at them hard too before the sh$tstorm over his fidelity issues. And I don't really care what he does with his personal life but would have a hard time looking at my watch X amount of times a day without conjuring bad thoughts.

I am not a golfer. I am an avid tennis player though, and don't think I would be standing in line if Rolex released a 'Roger' version of one of its watches, with or without any Federer scandals either. For the record I also love Omega but would never own a '007' branded version either since I think that is even dumber.

Collectiblity is usually enhanced by limited supply, and the fact that Tudor discontinued this model at the height of Tiger's popularity means a lot less were made than would have been had he not screwed the pooch (among others ).

Just a thought...

Great watch IMO whether it has TIGER or not, I originally bought to have a watch on a leather strap, and fell in love with it, however as time has passed I mainly find myself wearing my other watches with metal bands, I have been actually contemplating selling this one to help fund a 114060. Not sure what I will do, either way it IS a great watch.

You know I don't really mind the dial saying Tiger at all. Especially since its in red which totally pops and its not a common name except for a wild animal.

And I agree I wouldn't wear a watch with "Roger" on the dial either or any other "normal" name.

I have owned a number of Tudors over the years and they are all great watches. My 79280 "TIGER" gets lots of wrist time and lots of compliments!
The TIGER on the dial looks good and does not bother me in the least, however, if it had TIGER WOODS on the dial that would bother me.
