114060 or 214270. Or both.
Been thinking about these as well. |

SubC would be my choice. It seems like your AD only causing a 300 hit is very reasonable.

Sub LN.
PS, have you thought about the DeepSea? PS 2, don't feel too bad about the hit. Get what is right for you and be happy!

Agree re: the hit...it was a tough decision but the reality is that I took the hit immediately when I left the store, not now that I'm selling it. That's how I look at it anyway. We live and learn. I've read all the responses and am a little surprised that nobody has voted the GMT; I have always thought of the GMT as being an icon! I've discounted the Sub 116610 because the 114060 is cleaner so if I'm going Sub, I might as well go for one without the bubble. I do like the date and can live with the bubble, or of course have it removed, but the date isn't critical and there is something very slick about the 114060. I am still however considering the GMT; I would find the GMT function useful and it could be considered a finer watch as it has two additional complications over the Sub 114060. My thinking is as follows: In favour of the Sub 114060: - Clean looking (no bubble) - Classic Rolex - Very balanced (lack of date gives it symmetry) - Everyone should have a Sub! - Enables me to have enough cash left over to buy a Speedy or Tudor - Great clasp Against the Sub 114060: - No date function - Similar in look to my Sea Dweller 16600 - A little common (seen quite a few in the wild) In favour of the GMT 116710:- Iconic Rolex (first company to introduce the GMT function) - Polished Centre Links (I prefer brushed but polished is better with a suit) - GMT function would be pretty useful - I've rarely see one in the wild Against the GMT 116710: - Prefer the Sub Bezel - Date bubble - Clasp not as good - Can't get another watch (although can in a couple of months time) Either would be a good choice; and both are a little customisable (if I wanted to remove the date bubble on the GMT for instance), but ideally I want to leave as standard so lots of thinking and trying on to be done.

Based upon what you said I would go SUB 114060 and speedmaster.
Who really needs a date now a days anyway? Everyone has cell phones etc... |

Don't know why the GMT is not getting any love...I vote for it for you.

Depends on what else is in your collection. I'd go for either the Sub or the GMT.
