Congratulations! You don't need to explain to a WIS why you are using a pair of Rolexes as an expression of love. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone! She is South African, and when we were in Cape Town in 2012 she got me my Explorer II I showed in an earlier post (all over Africa).
I surprised her with a DJII blue dial roman wg bezel late last year.... |

Great idea and Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
My watch never leaves my wrist. On the other hand my wedding ring never leaves my jewelry box.. My wife understands. Plus, I lost the first one after 2 weeks of marriage! |

Fantastic. I have no clue how I would ever sell that idea to my girls, but brilliant nonetheless.

Congrats on the nuptials. Whatever works for you is great. I've been married over half my life and I've never worn a wedding ring except on the day I was married. Recently I was in a shopping mall checking out and the young lady asked if she could help me with anything else. I said she could help me find my wife. She said, "but you aren't wearing a wedding ring". I told her I didn't need a ring to know I was married. My wife wore hers up until a couple months ago. I had to cut it off her finger after a horse riding accident. I have no idea if she'll replace it.

Congratulations to the both of you. :-)
If the watch idea works for the both of you, then thats all that matters. Im a jewelery person so that wouldn't work for me. |

im not saying men dont hit on married women with wedding rings but im sure its much less common......much...... wedding rings are 'symbolic' to 'others'.....thats the point....it sends a message. screw it. get the watches. in this day and age with 'ashley madison' websites and facebook....wedding rings dont matter much anymore...... |

I think wearing a ring shows your commitment, and it symbolizes a lot to me. I want the world to know that she's my beautiful wife, but I guess that's not for you. I got a watch and a nice platinum ring - best of both worlds!

Nice idea, but maybe I'm old fashioned and think a ring on the finger makes a statement that nothing else can. Still, it's the quality of the marriage that really counts. All the very best.

Sounds like a great idea. Now if I could only trade in my wife's wedding and engagement rings for a Rolex. Btw, she doesnt like to wear a watch so I would be wearing it.

Definitely not traditional, but it's a great idea. I'm getting married in May and our rings are on order. Considering my future wife could care less about watches, your idea probably isn't happening. She thinks I'm crazy for spending that much on "something that just tells time".

If you eliminate the rings, why not also eliminate the marriage? You could still enjoy knowing that your committment to each other is invisible to the outside world.

You should have gotten those hideous rolex rings instead. Lol. I just wedded and we both have rolexes but I love diamonds too. Congratulations.

Well, technically speaking, a watch is a ring too, just a lot bigger and not for the finger, but it is a closed, round metal unit that you wear on your body.
