I been wanting to buy a headwind, but I never see, or hear anything about them. Anyone own one, or have something good to say about them?

Just added my first Breitling to the collection a week or two ago . It is a VERY nice watch especially considering I got a great deal on it preowned.

Thanks! Best watch buy I've made in a long time. I also have a black alligator strap with contrast stitching on the way for it. Should look really sharp.

Thanks! It's an A13352, a late model (40mm) Chronomat GT produced circa 2004-2006 just before Breitling went to the larger Chronomat Evolution.

The Headwind is a fantastic watch. It is large and in charge if your reference for a day/date is a Rolex. They were only offered for a few years and then Breitling stopped making them. They do that, sometimes inexplicably, which confounds Breitling fans. I owned one but had to sell to make room for my favorite Breitling, a limited edition piece. Here's my old one.

I have owned several, and the quality is excellent. My "Big 4" look like this:

Sure. I have a Superocean II, kind of like you're pondering, and like others have said above, I use it in a beaterish fashion. For that kind of use I do recommend the rubber strap though, as the bracelet IS highly polished and does show hairlines easily.

Just bought this one this morning and on its way to my wrist . . .

And I was thinking that I would never ever buy a Breitling

So from now on this will be my DB

I owned a Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish from 2006-2010 when I traded it in For a Panerai (believe it for $400 more than what I paid in 2006). Ended up trading that Panerai for PAM 312 which I ultimately traded in for new Rolex. I guess Breitling brought me to Rolex!

Breitling has an odd brand image in my view these days. I loved the classic tool look along with their pilot designs, but now they seem like they are catering to 20 year old frat stars.

I'd love to have a classic Navi, Cosmonaute, or one of the Emergency models though...

I have an A13356 Windrider Chronomat Evolution purchased new in St Thomas in 2005 while on my first cruise with my wife.

I've been wearing it for the last 2 weeks, giving my 16610 Sub and 116520 Black Dial Daytona a break. My wife is happy as this is her favorite watch in my collection. She doesn't much care for Rolex (in fact, she downright dislikes them).

Anyways, it will probably find its way back into the watchbox soon enough but it has been nice to rediscover this piece.

I have 2...This is my daily work watch...

And the other is my Dad's old chronograph...No photo handy right now.
I fly daily in Alaska, so the Emergency is just a little bit of extra insurance - in case the plane's transponder fails, my handheld transponder fails, the sat-phone fails, and my arm is still attached after the crash!
If I ever pull the antenna wire out, it's been a REALLY bad day!
Great watches, but they'll never completely pull me away from Rolex!!
